An exclusive resort town long recognized for attracting royalty, Estoril lies less than 20 miles west of Lisbon and is probably best known for its casino. One of Europe’s largest, it was the inspiration for the first of Ian Fleming’s James Bond books, "Casino Royale." Estoril’s mild winters and warm sunny summers make it a perfect beach town, with one of the nicest, Praia do Tamariz, lying right next to the casino. So famous has Estoril become that the local coast is now called Costa do Estoril.

Stayed a week at Palacio Estoril and did the 5-day green card programme with Daniel. The hotel was first class, classy and with friendly service. The golf lessons with Daniel were great as well. We learned a lot and reached our green card objective. Daniel is a very pleasant guy and instructor as well. We only played the Blue course. For us it was quite challenging, in particular because of the fast greens. That said, a very good learning experience. The booking experience with Kelly at Portugalgolf was excellent as well. We’d certainly consider returning to Estoril. Jyrki & Sonja

My family and I spent a great evening at Casino Estoril in Oct 2019. The casino is an upmarket well organised establishment and although it is really big - the staff are extremely helpful in assisting you to navigate your way around the casino to the different areas, from slot machines to the Black Jack and Roulette tables. I highly recommend it for a little taste of James Bond and Casino Royale

Yet another lovely beach with a few bars on hand to get refreshments. The sand is beautiful golden colour and very clean. The building in the background is a lovely sight overlooking this beach.
