"... a wonderful collection, and it's FREE! Thank you" a recent visitor. The Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum features vehicles ranging from the early 1900's to the 1960's in a variety of makes and models in both original condition and restored condition. After years of planning and nine months of construction, Swope`s Cars of Yesteryear opened in May 1999. The collection consists of sixty magnificent machines of the past, all museum quality. These are exciting automobiles that stir memories of long ago days when motoring was a fun-filled adventure. Our museum allows car fans and collectors to admire the progression of automobiles over time. Our collection includes antique cars like the 1914 Model T and the 1925 Pierce Arrow to classics like the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and the 1956 Thunderbird.
Almost missed it - road signs direct you to a previous location. It sits in the parking lot of the Swopes car dealerships right on US 31W. A small museum with about 40 antique cars, all in mint condition. Excellent collection and worth a stop to see. The museum is free.

Skydive KY LLC opened as a full service parachute / skydiving center on July 16, 2007 at Addington Field (Elizabethtown, KY Airport) after the close of a near by parachute center. That year Skydive Kentucky attained: group membership in the United States Parachute Association, Joined the Parachute Industry Association, was granted membership in the BBB based on business history and became a member of the Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce.

Opening as a movie house in 1942, the State Theater was the hub of social activity in Hardin County for 40 years. After showing its final film, "E.T.", in 1982, the building languished as an empty eyesore for nearly 20 years. However, because Elizabethtown and Hardin County is a community that cares, the State Theater has been fully restored to reflect its original 1942 construction but with modern amenities. The State Theater is now host to not only classic movies, but live concerts, comedy shows, theatrical productions and more. In addition, The State Theater complex now includes a full service banquet room and is also home to the Hardin County Playhouse which performs inside the black-box style Plum Alley Theater. Come see for yourself why the State Theater has once again become the highlight of downtown Elizabethtown.
This one room "screen" is simply gorgeous! I didn't even see a movie on it - was just walking by and fell in love with the place, so I walked in and asked for a quick tour (the people working there were so kind and knowledgeable). Go here to see a movie and you'll want to stay for the beautiful architecture!
