Elizabeth City is the county seat and largest city of Pasquotank County. We have been here several times since they moved to this location several years ago. We especially love visiting the gift shop during the holiday season to get gifts for our family members. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They have events here throughout the year too. Bathrooms are always clean. It is FREE to go to this museum so check it out!

This Coast Guard Base on the outskirts of Elizabeth City is called the "Largest Coast Guard Operating Base in the World". Wow That's a mouthful for a base that in my US Navy experience Would be called "really small". If you are an Active Duty or Retired member of the Armed Forces there are things here to serve you. A Coast Guard Exchange and Gas Station a nice RV Park on the water and three nice size cabins for rent on the RV park. They also have an I D lab to renew your government I D card.
