This cacti garden is a private gem whose owners, passionate about succulents, are very helpful, friendly, and full of information. Their collection of agave and cacti is wide ranging and beautifully tended. One could roam through the garden for hours, soaking in the beauty and serenity. There is no entrance fee, but a nice donation is appreciated and helps cover the expenses. Highly recommended!

On a beautiful island, find the quiet village of El Paso with its bold murals. Then step back into the cottage industry of silk weaving, to discover that this delicate, painstaking work is thriving! Our guide, Vincente, took us on tour from Santa Cruz. The drive was stunning and the ladies spinning delicate threads from the silk worms were mesmerising. This small and quiet display also houses beautiful finished garments through history. Designer, Manolo Blahnik, a resident of the island, brings it bang up to date. The rainbow colours were just beautiful to see. Refreshingly there was no gift shop.

Went up by car - you can book a free parking space in advance on the Spanish National Parks website. An hour slot was enough time for us to walk to the viewpoint at Lomo de las Chozas and back again (with picture breaks). Also stopped to look at the friendly ravens.
