Originally named Elephant Bazaar, this six-story elephant-shaped building was built in 1881 by James V. Lafferty, Jr. in hopes of selling parcels of land located on the beach in Margate, New Jersey. Over the years, this unique structure has served many purposes -- most notably as a tourist attraction. Today, Lucy the Elephant is recognized as the Oldest Roadside Attraction in the United States and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. Guided Tours through the elephant structure occur every half-hour during business hours, with the last tour of the day beginning 30 minutes prior to closing. And don't forget to shop our Gift Shop for all of your elephant-themed items, including one-of-a-kind Lucy the Elephant souvenirs available nowhere else!
Tour, which is about every half hour, takes about 15 to 20 minutes, but worth it. Guide tells you about Lucy's history and remains available for questions. No bathrooms - go across street to restaurant (they allow it, as the restaurant uses Lucy's parking lot) but the men's room in restaurant has no changing table. Great views from the howdah of Atlantic and Ocean cities. Not something I would go to repeatedly, but go at least once. Inside staircases are narrow and twisting, so recommended that small ones be carried.

6 adults, 6 grandchildren, not sure who had more fun. Many rides are fun for both kids and grownup kids. Park is decorated with thousands of lights during the holidays which all light up by Santa at 5:00 pm. It’s magical and really puts you in the holiday spirit.

With its quaint storefronts, amusement rides and Music Pier, Ocean City is everything you'd expect from the real Jersey shore. This family-friendly town boasts a two-mile boardwalk dotted with amusements, pizza parlors, and seaside stores.
The Ocean a City, NJ Boardwalk has something for everyone except someone looking for alcohol. There are a variety of places to eat, ice cream and candy stores, amusement piers, water parks, arcades, various clothing, jewerly, etc. stores but no bars. The Boardwalk is safe, no bums or no people asking for cigarettes or money. B But the gulls will steal your pizza slice if you aren't careful.

As one of America's oldest and most prolific golf clubs, Atlantic City Country Club has been home to many firsts, including being the "Birthplace of the Birdie." The earliest traditions of this seaside links course are still evident today. Finely manicured fairways and large sloping green complexes protected by deep sand bunkers remain the course's signature as it did more than a century ago. Long carries over natural ponds and salt water marshes also make the course a formidable challenge for any golfer. Shifting breezes, the distinct scent of saltwater, and windswept fescue only add to the total experience. It's no wonder Atlantic City Country Club is named the #1 Public Golf Course in the State of NJ by Golf Week, Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. ATLANTIC CITY COUNTRY CLUB ALSO FEATURES THE TAPROOM BAR & GRILLE AND EQUISITE WEDDING AND BANQUET FACILITIES.
Fabulous food. Truly gourmet fare. The appetizers ,Tuna Poke Stack and Macadamia Crispy Shrimp, and entrees including Char Grilled Miso Glazed Salmon with Crab Meat and Pan Fried Pierogis with Duck Confit doesn't begin to describe the quality ingredients and presentation of our meals. The desserts were wonderful. I don't know if they have a lunch and dinner menu other than in restaurant week, but they certainly should. Loved it.

We came here for our yearly family reunion. Park is great for our reunion because it gives the kids time to run around and play at the playground. The park overlooks the ocean/bay area with lots of trees and offers picnic tables and grills. Only drawback is the fly's that keep biting your legs. Bring bug repellent with you. You can also rent the pavilion if you so desire.

When was the last time you saw candy cigarettes? Shrivers has them, along with some iconic favorites (goldmine gum, rock candy) and some you can't believe still exist (pixie sticks, those wax soda shapes w/colored liquid). Go for the chocolate truffles in the glass cases or take home some boxed chocolates. Though I'm not a taffy fan, it was fund seeing it being made.

From the moment you arrive, you know you've made the right choice! Impeccable conditions, beautiful surroundings and a challenging but fun course just minutes away from Atlantic City, Ocean City, and other south Jersey shore points. Full Service club house is open in-season for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Visit the website for the latest golf specials and calendar of events.
This is my go to golf course for our annual trip to the Jersey Shore. While not particularly exciting, it is a well-maintained, attractive golf course conveniently located to Ocean City, Somer's Point, etc. Many of the fairways are pretty wide, so it is a good course to bring folks who are not real accurate off the tee. It has several holes with water in play and most of the greens have bunkers at the front and sides, so that there is also a decent level of challenge for better golfers. Pace of play can vary based on time of day and the skill level of the groups in front of you.

Growing up, we went to Wildwood. As I started my own family, we continued to go to Wildwood- and then did a few summers in Florida. We decided one year to give Ocean City, New Jersey a try. We loved it. It is a dry town but there are restaurants and bars in nearby towns (a 5-10 minute drive). We love the south end and we stay there because of the quiet residential environment. We drive to the boardwalk when we go, which is only once or twice as we do not have young children. The beach is clean. We rent through Berger Realty each year and they are so easy to work with! I can’t wait to go back!
