Recently we did a group ride with 8 of us. I was very impressed with the safety briefing and care the leaders too. Each rider was paired with an appropriate horse. A friend of mine was visiting from Michigan and beach riding is on her bucket list so of course we had to go here at my suggestion.
This time it was just the 3 of us and we opted for the longer beach ride. Our guide was Matt, who was one of the multiple guides who had taken us out on my previous visit with a larger group. He is excellent and very, very good at analogies when explaining to less experienced riders how to do something. He clearly loves his job and is an experienced rider.
The trails are scenic however it is public land so there are walkers, runners and dog walkers which you will encounter. We did canter and trot multiple times, ( this will depend on your level of experience and what you discuss ahead of time), however note that you may be limited if there are a lot of other people on the trails. I do feel this is good though since it is a safety issue.
I would suggest bringing your own hunt cap if you have one so you don't have to use one that others have ( think bowling shoes. They are sanitized but public).
Safety is a priority here. If you do have to leave a message, they will call you back but it may take awhile.
I definitely will come here again should I want to go trail riding. Also, if you have your own horse and can trailer, this is a great place to ride in Goddard Park.

We operate the newest most luxurious fast ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The "Ava Pearl" offers all Business Class seating with interior luggage areas and the most advanced Ride Control System in the world offering the smoothest ride possible. Depart from Quonset Point, Rhode Island and avoid all the Cape Cod traffic - we will save you 3-4 hours in travel time each way! Closest daily ferry to Connecticut, New York & New Jersey. Dockside parking $10/day. Seasonal ferry service operating May through October.
The ferry was on time and comfortable. Going into Oak Bluffs was ideal, as was the departure point at Quonset. The schedule allowed us to spend a full day at the Vineyard.

I love driving through the park, stopping at different areas and playing in each one. Taking our dogs for a play in the park. Walking the riding paths and along the beach. I nice cool spot for a picnic or a relaxing swim. Great place for walking in the woods along the waterside. The views are awesome with all kinds of birds and wildlife along the way.

Wickford Village is located in North Kingstown, RI. It is comprised of Brown Street, Main Street & West Main Street. Established in 1709, Wickford Village provides picturesque waterfront streets lined with one-of-a-kind shops featuring jewelry, housewares, clothing and more. You’ll also find galleries, antique shops, cafes and restaurants nestled amongst beautifully maintained churches, colonial homes and gardens. Have a boat? Tie up to the town dock while you explore our village.
Always enjoy walking around this little town with it's shop and early colonial history. Besides the shops, be sure to check out the historic houses and churches, especially the Old Narragansett Church built in 1707 ( a little hard to find, located on a small back street ).

The Varnum Armory Museum includes representative examples of weaponry, uniforms and artifacts dating from colonial America and through the 20th century. Among the more unusual items: a functioning 1883 Gatling gun, a Civil War era James Conversion six-pound rifled cannon, and a collection of more than 600 American and foreign patriotic and propaganda posters from World Wars I and II. Visitors can view a variety of militaria including vintage sabers, flags and banners, a rare Revolutionary War leather helmet worn by a Rhode Island artillery officer at the Battle of Long Island and firearms ranging from colonial flintlock pistols and muskets (including a British carbine captured at the Battle of Saratoga) down to automatic weapons from World Wars I and II. Among the latter is a German Maxim machine gun and a Browning water-cooled .30 caliber machine gun, both from WWI. The museum's unique displays offer scholars, students and history buffs a visible timeline of the evolution of weaponry and related materials, both American and foreign.
they hold a lot of auctions in this location but it is old,but the inside has a nice old fashioned look.
It is not like it is a special building exept for the fact it has seen a lot of history. If you like old you will like this. However it is in an area of history that has shops that I am sure you will like. Great restaurants are close by via walking and the town is old, great,
and part of the History of this part of the country.
so should you go. You bet.you will be happy you did.

I've been going to Morris Farms for 20 years to get fresh produce. Of all the local farm stands I've been to Morris farms consistently has the best tasting, sweetest corn on the cob I've ever found. Their tomatoes are outstanding! Can't wait for local summer sweet corn to be ready next year!

It was 1773 when James Mitchell Varnum purchased a large plot of land overlooking Greenwich Bay in East Greenwich, RI, for the sum of $90. Varnum, a gifted 24 year-old lawyer, did not buy the property solely for the view, but also because it sat behind the Kent County Courthouse (now East Greenwich Town Hall) where the most powerful and influential colonial leaders frequently met. As a prominent figure in the Revolutionary War and early-American politics, Varnum attracted a “who’s who” of guests to his mansion including George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, Rochambeau, John Sullivan, Nathanael Greene, and many others. This house museum contains numerous historical artifacts ranging from the late 17th century through the mid 19th century. The Varnum House Museum is open format, meaning that very few exhibits are behind glass or ropes. It is as if you’re touring the house as it appeared in the late 18th century! The Varnum House Museum’s exhibits focus on early American furniture, household items, musical instruments, children’s toys, documents, paintings, and much more. Some of the more impressive exhibits include a 1690 officer’s chair, a 1794 pianoforte made by William Frecker of London, a miniature punch bowl gifted from General Lafayette to Varnum as a housewarming present, and General Varnum’s own desk. A very unique aspect of the house’s exhibits is the large number of historical items sourced from the Far East, including China, Japan, Persia (now Iran), and more. This includes Chinese punch bowls and dinner ware dating to the 18th century, hand-carved ivory sewing kits, hand-painted Chinese wallpaper dating to the early 19th century, and Persian reverse-glass paintings dating to the 18th century.
The museum interior was a pleasant surprise. They have some great chinese pieces which I loved, some interesting art and the rooms are all very different from each other. It has a very lived in feel and the tour guide really knows a lot about the history of the pieces and the house itself. Being close to town and surrounded by other wonderful architecture a stroll around the area is well worth it. Off season you need to make an appointment to view.

Great place for walking, picnics, biking, flying kites. Outdoor fun. We enjoyed a walk with our dogs and laid out a blanket to have a picnic. Played with the dogs a little more and then walked around again. Nice breeze off the Narragansett Bay with beautiful views, fun watching the boats and birds. Wear comfortable walking shoes or sandals for the beach.
Miss the old Amusement park. Oh such memories I have.

Showcases the history of steam engines and wireless technology, including the only surviving George H. Corliss engine running under steam today, and the oldest surviving working wireless station in the world. An amazing experience and an incredible time. A great learning experience for the children, while still being interesting for adults.
