This beautiful walk is easily accessible. It is well signposted and we had maps from the local tourist shop. The walk was scenic, gorgeous bird life and springtime flora. A restful, take at your own pace stroll or jolly good hike. We took the restful stroll and finished off with coffee at Poppies. It was a lovely day

We were very lucky to have a personal guided tour of this gem of a tiny museum, an old house beautifully restored with many original items. A Aladdin's cave of mementos from the 19th century.

Illegal Tender Rum Co is a boutique distillery situated in Dongara, 4 hrs North of Perth. We are an international award winning distillery having only been open for under 6 years. We have won 17 International awards in total for all 3 of our Products - Distillers Cut, Spiced, 1808 Barely Legal - all of which have won gold in China at the 2017 International Spirit Awards. We were recently awarded World's Best Column Distilled Rum, 5 Years old and under at the World Rum Awards for the Distillers Cut Rum, So why not come and experience the hard work and determination of the young WA couple who are putting Australian made rum back onto the premium world stage. Partake in an informative distillery tour followed with a refreshing sample of our award-winning produce. See you there!
We were in Geraldton for the weekend and decided to visit the Illegal Tender Rum Co after hearing great reports of their award winning rum. Well worth the visit! We did the tour with Amos as our guide and found him to be so friendly and informative. It was definitely worth the visit and I would thoroughly recommend a trip here to buy some of their rum (and we also bought the gin) and partake in their tour.

A delightful local lady volunteer guided us around the Irwin District Museum which is housed in the old police station and sometimes court house. The museum depicts the history of Dongara in themed collections and is well worth a visit. Apparently anyone held pending their modern day court appearance is placed in one of the old cells which are none too comfortable!

We came to see wildflowers and to discover more of this beautiful area. First stop, the Tourist Centre. Great staff. The lady who helped us, knew her stuff. She gave us great maps of the town and surrounds and her knowledge of where the wildflowers were blooming was “spot on” In the 5 days we were in Dongara we walked the trails, visited the highlights, dined in the cafe’s, shopped at IGA ( isn’t that fabulous) bought some lovely clothes and ventured out to Mingenew, Morowa and Geraldton. We had a great time.
