We started from Jesus Pobre, where you really climb up the entire height, with perfect views. As an afternoon trek, it takes you some 50% of the total way up. Perfect

This is a great flat walk, passing through orange groves and other interesting scenery - including goats! We only did the first section, but will definitely go back and do the other parts

This site at the back of the marina can be either walked to or you can catch the solar powered launch from the centre of the seafront. There are lovely views of the castle both in the daytime and at night.

A beautiful place for walks along the sea
This cape is a magnificant location for views over the bay of Javea. But also a great place in itself: its interesting vegetation, the impressive lighthouse and views over land and sea make it worth a detour

We visited from Alicante the train journey from Benidorm to Calpe was picturesque. You are then ushered onto a luxury coach to complete your journey to Dénia. The Castle is well worth the climb. It is good to see it is unspoilt. We spent half a day here with our young children. If you use your manners and a little Spanish the staff are very helpful. There are no signs in English but you can work out what's happening. After all we are in Spain. We were impressed to find the café open on a quiet day in January.

This pedestrian tunnel is a godsend if you want to get to the other side of the castle mound as it cuts straight through beneath the castle.

Everything went as expected, the ferry departed 15 minutes early and took exactly 2 hours from Denia to San Antonio. The return ferry I took from Ibiza to Denia arrived 30 minutes late, including getting off the ferry and arriving in the terminal building.
