Though Mumbai can feel chaotic and crowded, there are peaceful moments to be found here. Nibble a paper cone of bhelpuri while you stroll the sands of Chowpatty Beach. Then, take a short walk to Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi once lived, strategized, and was ultimately arrested. The markets are spirited places to bargain for spices or souvenirs. Take a guided tour of Dharavi – made famous by "Slumdog Millionaire" – for an eye-opening glimpse into what Mumbai life is like for nearly a million people.

I ended up visiting this park while sketching with urban sketchers and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet and serene this park was on a Sunday morning. It's a fairly big park considering other greenspaces in Mumbai. The entrance fee is only Rs 5. Even more impressive when you realise it used to be a garbage dump. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking for some peace and quiet to visit. There are park benches where you can sketch or read or just watch the clouds go by.

The Afghan church is steeped in history and is really beautiful inside. However, getting access into the church is not easy since I am not aware if there are visiting hours outside the times when they have a church service. It's truly worthwhile if you can get to see the inside of this historic church
