Joe Diamond - The 13th Hour

Joe Diamond is the Mystery Performer everyone is quietly talking about. Some call him a mind reader, others call him psychic, and still more call him a magician. You now have the chance to decide for yourself, up close and personal! Only 13 people will be admitted to his studio in the 'supposedly haunted' Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake for this unique experience. “If you don’t already worship at the feet of Joe Diamond, you should really get on board.” - Varla Ventura, author of “Beyond Bizarre” "Joe Diamond is the Devil" - WGN News "I am totally floored" - You & Me This Morning "That's impossible!" - The Today Show It doesn't matter if you are a believer or a skeptic, we predict you will have a good time!

Joe Diamond's show makes for a very fun, unusual night out. It's especially nice that it's for a smaller size audience, so everything happens close up; there's not a bad seat anywhere. It's obvious that Joe loves his work and loves entertaining; so much thought has gone into his performance, and it's great that he includes the audience as much as possible. We can't wait to return!

Absolutely beautiful area with swimming, fishing, gliding on water activities, hiking trails, picnic areas , water park for kids plus some really nice places to eat. The landscaping is beautiful leaning to native plants and if you just want to sit and enjoy the view you can do that too. A definite five star experience.

Crystal Lake Brewing

Reviewed By Mark S - Antioch, Illinois

The beers are not great but they are good. They had about 8-9 choices when I was there. This place has an ample-sized seating area with a decent-sized outdoor seating area in season. It has lots of games to play if you want, including a giant-sized janga game. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a nice place to hang for a few. I, as a self-proclaimed beer snob would like to see more beer variety and some stronger offerings like imperial stouts and porters. The place has plenty of lighter ales and weis beers.

The Cottage

Reviewed By Calmac3 - Crystal Lake, Illinois

Although we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a delicious Irish breakfast and hamburger for lunch, we’ve also eaten on the newly refurbished patio in the summer and loved it. Fast and friendly service no matter where you sit, pub food, lots of daily specials (love 1/2 price pizza and burger days!) some Irish themed food, and free popcorn and peanuts! The patio has overhead fans and lights, and TVs all around to enjoy in the fresh air. The Cottage also hosts concert events in the throughout the year. Just wish the parking lot was bigger but street parking is available and also a public lot down the street. Very crowded on weekends and summer nights.

On Target Range & Tactical Training Center

Reviewed By Thomas H - Crystal Lake

I first went to On Target for my CCW class and found the instructor(s) to ve very knowledgeable and extremely focused on safety. They were tough but very effective teachers, and many of them have a military background. I learned a lot, and I am a former Police Officer. The shoot - no shoot simulator is an added feature that provided a valuable learning experience. Since then, I have repeatedly gone to the range to practice and still continue to be very impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The only negative is the prices of their guns, which are generally significantly above those of their competitor's. As a range however it's clearly a 5 star operation.

Veteran Acres Park

Reviewed By Chris F S - Indianapolis, United States

Veterans Acres has been around for many years. While some improvements have been made, the park has limited facilities. There's a nice play area for the young ones. There's a pavilion for rent for decent size parties. BBQ grills are available. There are two baseball fields and a few tennis courts. In the winter time, visitors can use sleds down a steep hill to the lower level. The location is on the North side of the City of Crystal Lake. There is no charge to use the facilities.

Administrative Items: Parking can be tricky. There is no dedicated lot. However, there is street parking and the parking for the train stop. There is additional public parking in the lots by Starbucks (currently under construction right now)

Food was good. Typical sports bar food. Room a little darker, lots of TV.
We ate here before a performance to the Raue Theater. Parked the car once and walked to both locations.
