A scenic park that belies its ominous name and is best known for bird watching, camping, canoeing, hiking and horseback riding. Dead Horse Ranch State Park is located adjacent to and across the Verde River from the community of Cottonwood. It is centrally located near several major population centers such as Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Prescott. When using Dead Horse Ranch as a base, one has a variety of attractions to visit, including: Jerome State Historic Park, Fort Verde State Historic Park, Red Rock State Park, Slide Rock State Park, Tuzigoot National Monument, Montezuma Castle and Well National Monuments, Oak Creek Canyon, Prescott National Forest, Coconino National Forest, and the popular towns of Sedona and Jerome.
This is THE largest, most well tended, most verdant and useable community public park in Arizona. The Verde River is visually accessible from several spots in the park, in addition to the "duck lagoons" that are home to thousands of migrating water fowl. There are several well maintained trails around the lagoon and locals are found fishing there just about year round. The "Frisbee golf" course is in a beautiful wooded area giving it quiet the challenge for the sports enthusiast as well as for state wide tournaments. the "temporary RV and camping sites" are in high demand because of the consistently clean individual sites, the reasonable rates and quiet. A well trained personable staff makes using the part a pleasure. The "per day" and annual pass are more than worth the money.

You’ll find Alcantara Vineyards has over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietals. While you sip wine and enjoy our peaceful surroundings, which include vineyards, a grass picnic area, the Verde River and bald eagles flying overhead, you’ll find you are part of our community and family.

This is a wine tasting room
My husband and I stayed at the Tavern Hotel and opted for the "Sip and Stay" package. Pillsbury was one of the participating wineries that closed the earliest. We had called for an appointment to taste as soon as we arrived, but was informed that flights/tasting ended at 6pm. After such time glasses could be purchased at a happy hour price. Upon coming in, we were treated as if we were old friends and our tasting was accommodated. We both liked the WildChild Red and WildChild White wines. Overall, we felt the staff was welcoming and made an effort to work with us on short notice.

Larry's is the biggest, best and most unique antique store you'll ever find! "From tea cups to tractors", we have two acres of odd, unique and hard to find items. We love antique farming equipment, wagons, mining cars, gas pumps, signs, tools, car parts, furniture, lighting fixtures, collectables, house wares and more. At Larry's Antiques we buy, sell, trade and consign.
Larry's Antiques & Things in Old Town Cottonwood (next door to Bing's) is probably the biggest antique "store" I've ever visited (and I love to antique). I say "store" because the place is massive - maybe three or four buildings, plus everything outside - all in one location. Then there's all the "stuff" they have at Larry's, Small items, antique items, huge items - tractors, for example. The place is cool just to walk around and say, "I remember those..." If you visit downtown Cottonwood, stop in at Larry's.

I was not surprised THAT Breery was located in an industrial area. Many breweries are. Especiall if they offer a tasting room eviroment. You walk into an area next to the tanks and can. A cool place that they have games to play or just chill. When you don't know the beers youo go for a flight. Tried everything from Strawberry blond to their Stout. They have more than the six we tried but we settled on them. Then we had to have our favorites of those. My wife loved the Strawberry Blond. I chose the Knotty Nut Brown. Both were very good. They have popcorn for a snack. Stop by after they open at 3pm

Went to Mass here and saw one of most beautiful churches we' ever seen. We travel a lot and try to go to a different church every Sunday. This church was probably second to none.
