Came in on a Saturday during the Stay Safe Ohio order. A small but sufficient general food store that makes you feel like you went back in time. Friendly service and they offer a good selection of products. Including ice cream and made to order sandwiches. Ice cream prices are very good (1 kid and 2 small sizes was 6.50) Well worth the stop if you are exploring the area of Roscoe Village

JHM originated in 1924 from a bequest of 15,000 items by David and John Johnson to the city of Coshocton. They wanted the city to establish a museum as a memorial to their Johnson and Humrickhouse ancestors. These native-born bachelor brothers collected American Indian, European and Asian objects while traveling worldwide and residing in Washington State. On January 6, 1931, a train left Tacoma for Coshocton laden with their bequest filling 109 boxes, 20 crates, 30 barrels, and 2 bales. The collection was given over to the Coshocton County Library Board of Trustees to oversee the collections and a museum. A defunct school building served as its site and it opened its doors in May of 1931. Additional contributions followed, including Ohio historical items and prehistoric Ohio tools and points. In 1979 the museum relocated to a new building in Roscoe Village.

The Roscoe General Store has been an iconic building and store in Roscoe Village for decades since the restoration of the Village in the late 1960s and early 70s. John Barkhurst built this establishment as a drug and general store in 1870.
All kinds of things to choose from including fudge, apple butter, Christmas decorations, antiques and collectables, pretty much you make it. Worthy a stop for sure.

Experience life during the 1830s in this beautifully restored canal era town called Historic Roscoe Village. "Step back in time" with a living history experience complete with costumed interpreters, hands-on activities, shopping, dining, lodging and a horse-drawn canal boat ride.
Went there during the Stay Safe Ohio order and a majority of the places were closed. However it’s a cool historical village to walk through. My daughter got a kick out of seeing the window display of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp at the local pet store. It’s about 1 hour drive from Columbus so its a definitely a good day trip from Central Ohio. Definitely will return when the state is finally reopened.
