We did not have much time but popped into the Historical Museum and we enjoyed it so much. The person working was so friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable and we enjoyed her a lot. She gave a interesting an informative presentation about the sculptured brick wall as well as some of the other things we had to time to see. I did not have near enough time to see what all I wanted to because we only had minutes but I am excited to get back to the museum and Concordia to see more

Loving God and Neighbor without Distinction
In all my travels I don't ever remember seeing a Convent and certainly didn't expect to find this way out here in the middle of Kansas in a small town. The building is viewable for a good distance and beautiful in person

The National Orphan Train Complex is a museum and research center located on the corner of Third and Washington Streets in Concordia, Kansas. The mission of the National Orphan Train Complex is to collect, preserve, interpret, and disseminate knowledge about the orphan trains, and the children and agents who rode them. The museum’s collections, exhibitions, programming and research will engage riders, researchers, and the general public and create an awareness of the Orphan Train Movement.
We enjoyed our visit. Lady working at the museum was very knowledgeable, welcoming, informative, professional and helpful. We watched a short movie and then they let you to walk through the buildings. Bathrooms were clean and hand sanitizer was available.

This is a fantastic place to tour for anyone who is interested in World War II, military history, or unique stories from the homefront, during the mid-1940's. The POW Camp Concordia Museum is host to some really neat exhibits, artifacts and displays. It's all inside of an original camp building, which makes it even cooler! Both German and American families have donated items to be on display and the pictures are wonderful. The actual museum site is further east of the restored guard tower, look for a wooden sign, north side of Union Road. Admission is only $5/person and goes toward museum upkeep. The local effort and interest in maintaining POW Camp Concordia's history is really quite impressive! Tours have to be scheduled in advance, as all tours and activities are volunteer-led. Call or contact Cloud County Tourism in Concordia to make arrangements. Their tour season runs from late-April to mid-October, weather permitting. There are additional POW Camp Concordia items on display at the Cloud County Historical Museum, which is open all-year long. Each year in early May, the museum's Preservation Society hosts their Victory Day Celebration, which is great time to visit the site. They host special exhibits, one-day-only set-ups and WWII re-enactors - who are awesome!!
