I had last been here about 18 years ago, and the house has had quite a makeover. Fascinating to stroll around. There are lovely views, but the leaves were late this year. If you want to stroll to the waterfall, do it on the way up as there is a different road down. The entrance fee is quite pricy.

The rattle snake trail is a must do. Fairly easy to start and then gets a little steeper. Little kids may need a little help near the top. It took our group four hours for the round trip. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the awesome view of Squam lake.

Cider Bellies Doughnuts is right next to the farm stand. There's plenty of activities for the kids (tractor ride, corn "sand" box, corn maze, magic show). All around great place to visit with your family.Thanks for sharing how much you enjoyed our fall activities and the special magic show we had as part of one our "Old Farm Days" events. Always wanted to go here. Have gotten catalogs for years. Stop at quilt shops every where I go. Nice selection of fabrics. Having been to tons of quilt shops would have liked to have seen tons of finished quilts hanging from the ceiling. Thought they would have more classes. But overall fun stop for a quilter.

Great staff walk you through a training course before you head to the main course on your own. Rules are easy to follow and staff are on hand to remind you. Some rope spans are quite challenging while others are quite easy. Zip line was great fun!

Staying in Meredith for a few days included a coupon for the Lake cruise which we have never done.
It was a bit cool but the trip to Wolfboro from Weirs Beach was great. Our only complaint was the food. Under a Deli Offering it had a Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce sandwich. Sounded good, but what we got was a very greasy, heavy grilled Turkey and stuffing sandwich. Not " Deli " as we know it.

Here at the Science Center, we house and exhibit many different wild animals, including river otters, mountain lions, bobcats, deer, bears, birds, foxes, and skunks. The wild animals at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center are ambassadors of their species, here for the purpose of educating our visitors about New Hampshire's natural world. Most are orphaned, injured, or otherwise unable to survive in the wild. Our visit, which was booked at the last minute, was pure magic! The interpretive exhibits, especially the Water Matters one, were very informative and fun. How are ice blocks made? How do earthworms aerate the soil? And Laurie was a great tour guide and lake boat driver. Loves everything about Little and Big Squam...and it shows! Don't miss this attraction!

Museum is closed. Our museum is the only museum in the country which chronicles the history of the motorcycle policeman. There are 94 motorcycles on display from 1909 to 2005, a movie theater, a workshop where we build a bike a year, a special Laconia Race exhibit with racers from 1909 to the present,our lobby is dedicated to our military with original WW11 motors and much more. Our pride and joy is our junior motor officer area where children receive a badge and police ID card if they take a pledge to read every night, obey their parents, promise not to bully, and say no to drugs.

A few weeks before out vacation we were searching for a place to rent kayaks on Lake Winnipesaukee which was close to where we were staying in Ashland. We called Wild Meadow and was told that they did have the kayaks we wanted. The man on the phone went over thier rates (half day, day, ect...). I told him that we wanted a half day on the morning of June 24th. He took my name, number in my party and told me that he would see me at 9:00 am. I asked him if he needed a deposit? No he told me, I will have everything waiting for you.
So we arrived a little before 9 am and everything was set out and ready for us. We all signed the paperwork and paid him. After some instructions on where the speed boat channel was and nice places to go, we set out.
It was a Monday morning and we had most of the lake to ourselves. It was a sunny day in the 70's with very little wind. It was great for kayaking along the coast..
We paddled away from Center Harbor by some homes, but mostly it was wooded area.
Since there were very few speed boats we paddled across the lake going east by Three Mile Island. We were barked at by a dog guarding a dock and house on one of the small islands. One kayak in our group did paddled as far as the Old Long Island Bridge.
Then we turned around and took our time paddling back to Center Harbor. On this side there were many more houses to look at along the way.
Lake Winnipesaukee will take you away from all of the stress of the modern world if you let it. Kayaking in its waters did it for me.

Quite possibly the oldest retail establishment in America built on the corner from the barn frame in 1781 we carry the items that other stores don't carry from penny candy to wrought iron hardware to an old museum above the store we're open seven days a week and there's some thing for everyone ages 3 to 100
