Museum on the history of Chelan county.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but this did not disappoint. We took a guided tour with a tour guide and learned a lot. They have so many Salis artificacts inside, it was really neat to hear all about this history of the local Native Americans along with artifacts. There were many collections there of all kinds of other things as well: artwork, animals, petrified wood, and fossils. Was definitely a great experience.

While in the area we stopped by here specifically to get the sugar-free and chocolate-covered versions of their treats. I thought they both are VERY good. I prefer the sugar-free since they seem less tooth-achingly sweet. The chocolate versions are so very good that I am trying to make them last a week by only eating a couple a day.

I cannot say enough in favor of this memorial. I am very passionate about remembering what happened on 9/11, so I was excited to find a memorial not far from me. It surpasses memorials of cities much larger than Cashmere! The life-size figurines which are positioned such that you can stand hand-in-hand with them bring a personal touch to the viewer. There are several plaques commemorating each airplane lost. I appreciate the presence of a part of the Pentagon and a piece of steel from one of the Towers. There is even a survivor tree. I just visited for the second time to find that there have been new additions since the last time I saw the memorial. Now there are four memorials inscribed with the names of every victim; one for the Pennsylvania crash, one for the Pentagon, and one for each of the Trade Towers. Altogether, visiting this site is a moving, deeply meaningful experience.
