Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy the big hills and great snow conditions at Caberfae Peaks. Offering 6 lifts and 34 slopes, Caberfae Peaks was voted the #1 ski value in Michigan. In the summer months, Caberfae offers a beautiful venue for wedding receptions and other banquets, along with a 9 hole golf course.
The slopes were lovely and the staff was very attentive. The hotel rooms could use some updating, otherwise wonderful!ruizino: Thanks for visiting and commenting on our slopes and our staff. We have been renovating and improving our hotel and the plan is to continue with the improvements this summer season as well.

A great place to go fishing. Lots of game fish good action. To connecting Lakes are both very large with different layouts and formations for a challenging day or several days of fishing. The campground itself is well treed and well-maintained, but the campsites get very crowded and packed in very tightly together, almost like camping in a city. Lots of friendly people though and helpful staff still highly recommended spot to go and spend some time fishing or camping

Two golf courses on site: Spruce is the 18 hole championship course; Norway is the 9 hole course. Seasonal rates and specials. Beverage cart, Snack Shack, driving range, and practice greens, as well as two full service restaurants and 117 hotel rooms at the resort.
This was our second year for a couples golf weekend there. We found it just average this time. The course was not in the greatest shape. Larger rocks in the sand traps. The lady at the halfway house was kind of loud, and not altogether there. G-string hanging out of here shorts. My husband smokes, so we asked for a room with a balcony. Stu the manager was VERY accommodating. We were given a suite instead, with no charge for upgrading. The room was very clean and spacious. Our buffet breakfast was fantastic on both mornings. Friendly staff at breakfast. Curly's Sports Pub was sub-par this time (a review was posted there).

The museum is housed in a former Carnegie Library building, which in itself is very interesting and unique. Inside, Docent Richard Kraemer explains the history of the building, and the exhibits layout. He is very knowledgeable of Cadillac's past and how it fit in with northern Michigan's lumbering industry. Amongst the exhibits are photo albums of Cadillac during it's logging heyday. This is a fascinating place. There is such a wide variety of artifacts that there will be something of interest for everyone, young and old.

Gina and Tim make this tour so much fun! They are incredibly accommodating, engaging, and you learn a lot about the sport in the time you spend with them. We were fortunate enough to call at just the right moment, and snagged a last minute reservation for four, on Valentine's Day. Which as it turns out, was one of the coldest days of the year!
We arrived around 10am and spent some time warming up, signing waivers, and learning a bit about what we could expect. Then we were outside with cookies, cocoa, and a bonfire! Meanwhile, Gina, Tim and their team set up our sled. Shemhadar is one of two dog sledding providers in Michigan, with sleds that allow you to drive, with the security of an experienced guide helping you brake, telling you when to lean, etc. We went one at a time, about 10-15 min pp, for a two hour total experience.
When we went, it was about $60pp for the 10-15 minute ride. This might sound expensive, but not when you consider how much work goes into this seasonal activity, all year long. Well worth the price for a once in a limetime experience.
Thank you Gina and Tim!

Had some extra time before meeting a friend in Cadillac, so I decide to check out main street and the city park. Spent a good half hour walking, relaxing and lake watching. Viewed T. Walter Kelly Memorial Plaque and fountain, as well as a Historic Restored Shay Locomotive & Tender. Very relaxing and enjoyable visit.

a rustic musical art sculpture
20,000 daffodils in the spring and hundreds of perennials
a ground sun dial
Don't be shy. Play with the musical instruments with the sticks provided -- metal flower bells made in the USA, wooden xylophone, wooden chimes to play. Enjoy the flowers and view the lake and stream. The sun dial has directions that if you follow it does give the correct time. Benches to sit on an easy paths to walk on. Parking is in designated areas along the lake across the street. About a block away. The sound garden is between Consumers Power and the school.

Complete makeover has transformed the place into a must-go-to Sports Bar. Numerous TV's stationed throughout the bar/eating & bowling center all tuned to various sportscasts. Reasonable prices & great burgers, wraps, pizza, etc. The only bar within several miles continuing to host Buzztime trivia games.
