I took my wife to Chef Leez's cooking class as part of her birthday and we really enjoyed learning about Thai cooking. Chef Leez and her team made it extremely streamlined so that we could learn and experience a lot in a relatively short amount of time. I am still wow'd by how much flavor we could create in such simple and quick dishes. My favorite parts were making fresh coconut cream and milk in the traditional way, scraping the old coconuts, soaking in water, and squeezing out the cream and milk. We also learned how to make a crazy delicious shrimp head paste that makes every soup taste insanely good. I also appreciated how Chef Leez taught us that all the inedible spices and flavor makers, like camphor lime leaves and lemon grass, should be removed by the cook before serving. This is never done in restaurants. Chef Leez is very knowledgeable and personable. The space is great and everyone gets a digital copy of her recipes to try at home.

Absolute Inner Tranquility' will be felt from your first step into this realm of serenity, which is located conveniently in the vicinity of Suvarnabhumi Airport and is easily accessible from the heart of the city. Here, rest your body and mind, and be inspired by an ambience of blissful calm, then indulge in our soothing spa or invigorating massage programs. Follow the ancestral lineage back to the very beginnings of Thai traditional healing - a healing practice beyond what we know today as massage, to an understanding of the sacred balance of the body and spirit handed down to the abbots of the Wat Po dispensary from those taught by the venerable Jivaka Komarabhacca (the Buddha's personal physician). The Wellness Center at Phothailai Liesure Park, remaining faithful to the healing-tradition resurgence nurtured by King Rama III (1824 - 1851), has tailored a truly traditional massage program for our very different contemporary lifestyles. In addition to the Wellness Center's massage therapies, body treatments and detox are Dutton, the exercises and postures of ancient Thai Hermit Yogis. The spa's decor, built with original terracotta from the country's old city and original capital, Ayudhya, sets the stage for total immersion in ancient healing techniques. Original cast sculptures of the Thai Hermit Yogi positions from the reign of King Rama IV adorn an elaborate fountain as guests enter the santuary's corridor.Continuing just beyond the spa facilities, wellness in body and spirit extends past passive therapy.

The Bangkok Sculpture Center is the museum and learning center which displays Thai sculptures from the Buddhist art to modern art era more than 200 pieces.
The Bangkok Sculpture Center has been on my "must visit" list for perhaps a year after reading an article about it. My partner and I finally got to visit yesterday, and we were knocked out by the experience. We hadn't booked in advance, but we were given a guided tour by a delightful and highly knowledgable young woman. Sermkhun Kunawong's collection of sculptures is a priceless asset to Thailand's artistic repertoire, and has been lovingly put together, beautifully curated, and passionately displayed in an unusual and attractive building which also houses Khun Sermkhun's company offices. What a glorious place to work! This important collection includes some wonderful ancient religious images (housed in a stunning room), and progresses through early 20th century figurative works right up to the present day. Many of Thailand's National Artists are represented here, including some of my favourites. Although the location is a bit of a distance from the city centre, it is well worth the 30 minute drive to get there (taxis are easy). You may want to call ahead (number on their website or FB page) to make sure you don't go when they are doing a school group tour or suchlike. Highly recommended. Together with MOCA and the BACC, the Bangkok Sculpture Center now joins my list of favourite art locations in Bangkok. A truly wonderful experience

This is the 3rd time I have been to Bungsamran. I come here once a year just to get that monster fighting itchiness off my finger and what can I say, Bungsamran fishing park never let me down. This time I even brought my mom and my 4 year old daughter with me. They have air-conditioned hut with washroom and a bed so you don’t need to worry, they can cool off and even sleep in the room when they get tired or watch you catching monsters Mekong Catfish. I always just rent one rod and takes turn with my husband because the fish just keeps coming and you definitely need time to revive before you fight another monster. Price is a bit pricey but I think it is all worth it. I arranged it with TFF Cat and the price comes to 7500B for one rod and inclusive with a gillie, net and bait (bread crumbs) and a air conditioned hut, you can fish from 9am to 8pm. If you haven’t tried catching Mekong catfish, you should definitely give this place a try!
