This lookout affords the traveler a very striking view of Saint Mary Lake and the tiny Wild Goose Island that is framed in the distance by beautiful mountains. From here, a very iconic photograph of the Island can be taken.

When, or if, you find parking, this is a great stop either before a trip into the park or after, which was our situation. It has everything you need before setting out into the park: a film describing the park, handouts, maps, the backcountry permits, exhibits, on- site interpretive programs and a gift shop. Restrooms - use them! From here the shuttles depart into the park. There are restaurants in St. Mary also.
