With a group of our social club members we truly enjoyed our visit to Bribie Island Seaside Museum. The docuumentaries were very well written - actually read heaps because of the great writing style. Well laid out, heaps of history (even a replica of Matthew Flinders Black Cat :-) the Seaside Museum showcases Bribie history in modern surroundings and lovely welcome by people who worked there. Thanks you

Col Fisher Park

Reviewed By Bandicoot2 - Banksia Beach, Australia

This park at Bribie Island's Banksia Beach provides several kms of mostly paved pathway winding through the large trees behind the beach. The park has large, large and covered picnic tables, some with bbqs and some with lights for evening gatherings. There are playgrounds for the kids and exercise stations for the self-improvers. The path is about 2 km in length. The beach is sandy and sheltered. In parts, particularly the northern end, the tide goes out a long way but there's always accessible water somewhere and pools of water for safe play. There's a boat launching area, too. This is a great spot for a walk, a run, kayaking, cycling, picnics or just chilling on the grass. There's a small shopping centre, and with supermarket, only 200 m from the beach.

The first thing we did on arriving in Bribie Island was to visit the Information Centre. It is centrally located with designated parking while you visit the centre. The lady was very friendly and welcoming. We asked her about the things to do in the island with only a few hours to do it. She asked us what interested us and then gave us some great ideas and some maps to get us there. Makes life so easy when you come to a new place.

Bribie Island Butterfly House

Reviewed By T2873WIpatriciat - Brisbane, Australia

A visit to the Butterfly House at Bribie Island is a wonderful experience. You can spend as long as you like and be amazed by the number and assortment of butterflies to interact with in the enclosure. You also get to learn about the life cycle of the butterfly and see different caterpillars. Kids would love this and I feel it would give them a good idea of how important it is to save our beautiful environment. How exciting to have a butterfly land on you! The volunteers here do a great job and profits are donated to charity.

We dropped in to the Community Arts Centre and were very impressed with the art works on display. Featuring a number of local artists there were a lot of different art media and crafts. Definitely lots of creative artists on Bribie. The centre has a cafe but was closed by the time we visited.
