We also offer the popular interactive workshops during which you will learn everything you always wanted to know about the origin, history, nature and culture of cacao and chocolate! You will also participate in peeling fresh roasted cacao beans and turn them into your own personal chocolate treat!
WOW! What an incredible and unique experience we had here. We had the privilege of meeting Henrik (owner) today and experienced first hand not only how to make chocolate from start to finish (which you get to eat) but also received a phenomenal history lesson on cacao and chocolate making. I could share more but I’d spoil the great experience you’d have visiting and experiencing for yourself. If you find yourself anywhere near Playa Conchal/Tamarindo/Brasilito, this is an absolute must do. This is chocolate in its most purest form. I look forward to bringing my daughter back one day to experience this! ????

The Reserva Conchal Golf Club is an 18 golf court, par 71, inside the Reserva Conchal, which is a 1.000 hectare or 2.471 acres forest reservation in Costa Rica,s northen part. The golf club belongs to the Westin Hotel located here, and is intended so that hotel guests can play there. If you aren,t a hotel guest, then you need to contact the golf's manager and ask him if you can play, at [email protected]. I am an amateur senior golf player, handicap 17, and as it I will describe in the following lines what I saw there. At the starting point you have a store where you can find everything you need to play golf. The green fee is U$ 150 plus the rental of the clubs, which is U$ 60 per day. If you rent them for more than 3 days then they make you a special price of around U$ 180 per day which includes the golf cart, green fee, clubs, golf balls and 4 bottles of water, very necessary. The clubs are Callaway and they have 4 different types going from stiff to regular and senior ones. The golf cart is an EzGo one equiped with Textron Fleet Management GPS, which through and 8"screen is showing you at all time where you are in the golf field and also at what distance you are form the holes. The system also will not allow you to drive to restricted areas. I played on February and the temperature can rise up to 36 degrees celcius or 96,8 F. On March, the hottest month it can rise to 40 C or 104 F. I played very early in the morning, from 6:30 to 7 AM and the temperature is OK, but I beleive that at 1 PM it will not let you play, or make it not pleasent The course meanders though rolling terrain with breathtaking vistas of the pacific ocean on some holes. Wild animals like monkeys, lizzards, snakes, racoons, all sorts of birds will be seen along the 18 holes. You need to be carefull specially with lizards, not to step on them with the cart, because the are allways crossing the road. These animals are not dangerous for yourself, as long as you don,t bother them. There are also lagoons that come in the game in 5 holes, to make them more difficult. At the starting point of each hole, there is also a yellow starting point, to the three normal that you find, blue, white and ladies, that adds 30 to 40 yards more behind the blue line. I played 6 days there, and four of them were windy, which adds difficulty, specially in the first 9 holes that are more openen to the enviorment. The fairway runs allmost all the time with native forest at both sides, so if you are'nt a straight driver hitter, leave it in the bag and use your fairway woods. There is a 99% chance that if you go into the forest, that will be a lost ball. The golf field is not an easy one to play, becasue as I describe you need to hit the ball straight, there are crossed bunkers is almost all the holes, and the greens are very difficcult to play. Many of them are small or narrow, which demands that you need to land your ball in a small space, or go to the forest, most of them have declines and some have 2 slopes on them. The condition of the fairways as well as the green was perfect, and you can see at all times people working in the maintenance of the golf field. If there is something that I did not like of this golf court, is that there is not a place to stop after the 9th hole, to eat a sand which or have a drink. Anyhow, there is a lady that is driving through the court, offering chips, beers and sodas, but not sand whiches. By far, this is the wildest golf field that I have played, and I will recomend it 100%. It is really a very nice and unique place to play golf. I have added some photos as well as ones taken from the booklet of the course so that you can understand in a better way what I have described here.
