Our extended family visited Fort Yargo State Park, paying just 5$ total to enter since we drove together in a minivan. We had our picnic supplies and ate down by the lake. The water was just perfect for swimming. Even though it was very hot, the beach/swimming area wasn't very crowded and was rather clean. The kids tried stand-up paddle boards (rented at a very reasonable 10.70 per hour), while the adults and youngest kid rented a paddleboat (10.70 for the boat). No motorboats in the water, so it was nice and calm. Kayaks and canoes are available to rent as well. There's hiking, mini-golf, disc golf, camping, and other activities on site, but we just stayed in or near the lake. If we're back in the area, we'd certainly return here and recommend it to others.

This park has amazing trails for all levels of hikers and walkers. The paths are through forests, through meadows, around lakes and mixtures of all three. You can choose paved or unpaved, and sunny or shaded. There's also an equestrian trail for those who enjoy trail horseback riding. There are several docks for fishing, pavilions for gathering, and playgrounds for playing as well as animals for wildlife viewers. I have seen all types of birds and water fowl, turtles, frogs, deer, snakes, and squirrels. Most of the animals (except the squirrels) keep their distance, but they'll be close enough that you get to enjoy seeing them.

Several couples dined here recently. We ordered hot sandwiches and salads, after 7 PM. The meals were nicely prepared. Several of us had sweet potato fries as a side order and the salads some in our party had were fresh, large and tasty.
We dined in a room that overlooks a putting green and there are flat screen TV's on the walls. A nice, informal meal with very good service. The entry way to the dining area has some golf memorabilia and appeals to golfers.

The marc is a new restaurant at the Chateau Elan winery in a renovated part of the tasting room. We stopped at the winery on our arrival at the Chateau and requested a "free" sample of a couple of wines we thought interseting. The attendant offered each of us, 4 people, a sample and said they were serving them in marc, the wines were good so we went to dinner. The restaurant features farm to table with a limited menu, not a problem. The chicken and pork were more than we could ask for and the sides were served family style. We went back 2 days later.

Located less than one hour from downtown Atlanta, this is one of Georgia's most popular wineries and is also a luxury resort.
How many different ways can you say "CLASSY"? The service here is wonderful!! My masseuse was running a little late and the host offered my wife and I complementary glasses of wine!! We are already planning to return in October!

We attended our third Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta this year which celebrated its 20th anniversary. Always a great experience in which you can walk the paddocks, capture a picture shaking hands with a driver, get up close to the cars on the starting grid and experience the myriad activities of an international motor sports event in Atlanta's backyard.
There were some changes this year. The Fan Zone was expanded to offer more vendors and activities. And, the Fan Zone had been paved making it more enjoyable especially with the rain that morning. One downside was that the new owner of Road Atlanta did not allow fans onto the pits prior to the race. We really missed that!
Still, Road Atlanta is an ideal venue for this captivating race.

We were headed to Lake Lanier Legacy Lodge in Buford, Georgia for a business conference and decided to stop at Mayfield's on the way since it was the same exit off the Interstate (about 30 minutes from the Lodge.) We bought tickets to the last tour of the day 4:00pm. Tickets were a little more than $9 for the two of us but included a generous ice cream cone at the end of the tour so I felt like that was a very fair price. We browsed around the cute gift shop for a few minutes before the tour began. The tour started off by going into a small auditorium style room to watch a short five or six minute movie about the history of Mayfield. Our friendly tour guide Kay then passed out hairnets and we began the walking tour of the plant. We saw where the milk was separated and pasteurized, the lab where it was tested, the delivery area where the tanker trucks delivered the milk and is unloaded, the room where the milk is flavored into chocolate or strawberry milk, and the room where the white milk is filled into the iconic yellow Mayfield gallon jugs. Very interesting! There were only the two of us on the tour but Kay provided a wonderful tour answering all our questions. She was just delightful! We ended the tour with a picture in front of the milking cow and the most delicious fresh scoops of Mayfield ice cream! Highly recommend!

This place is really cool and has a really great selection. It's surprisingly busy (went on a saturday afternoon, so maybe not TOO surprising), and had a pretty welcoming vibe. Lots of people playing lots of games, and their selection of games was really huge... We found tons of stuff that we could only get on Amazon. Also, they have a lot of games that you can play in the shop. They're on a bookshelf so it'd be a fun place to go to try a few games if you wanted to check some out before buying. I think you can have food delivered to you there, but I'm not 100% on their policy (I just went to buy a game for a friend, and didn't stay very long). If you're into tabletop games, this place is a must-visit spot!

My husband and I visited Masterpiece Mixers on a long overdue date night. We didn't really know what to expect or if it was something we would enjoy. We lack the art and creativity gene unfortunately.
The instructor, Maisey, was extremely friendly making us feel welcomed and part of the group from the very beginning. Her instructions and constant compliments were encouraging (and needed). By the end of the night, my husband and I had laughed, enjoyed each others time, and made a new memory.
I cant wait to go back with him and I know bringing a group of girlfriends will make some fun memories. I'm so glad you are in Braselton!
