The museum bears the name of its former owner, Tomaz Godec, a skilled tanner, excellent sportsman, mountaineer and tourist worker in the Bohinj area. The Bistrica river with its source Pod Luknjo is the strongest affluent of the Sava Bohinjka river. The stream flowing through the Bohinjska Bistrica river gets its water from the lower Bohinj mountains. The Bistrica stream has a picturesque impassable gorge which has not yet been arranged for tourist visits. You can, however, visit its impressive source with the waterfalls.

Easy reachable "family« viewpoint that offers spectacular views of the Bohinj valley and its surrounding mountains. It got its name from Valentin Vodnik, who spent three years serving as a parish priest in Koprivnik, admiring the wonderful views of the Bohinj valley and its surrounding mountains. This is why the locals still call it Gospodovec (Seignior). Walking time from Koprivnik takes 30 min.

The waterfall has altogether height of 19 meters because the stages are so close one to another that we can say there is one multiple stage waterfall. You can start your walk from Nomenj village and in about 20 min you will reach the sight of Grmečica waterfall. There is no official parking places at starting point, so we recommend to take a bus from Bohinjska Bistrica to Nomenj, where you can find free parking places.

Bohinj is a wonderful place and this aqua park makes my experience there complete. Bohinj is famous for hiking and outdoor attractions but when outside is rainy or cold aqua park is perfect. I found it clean and well organized but with a careful look, you may notice that is a more than 10years old structure. During popular hours the saunas are perfect for chill out. They open one or two sauna areas depending on the demand and together with towels they give a salt/local herbs mixed for a scrub!! Kids also love it there are rules for safety but not everyone follows them...???? otherwise is totally safe +lifeguard inside a booth and behind cameras on guard.

Peat bogs belong among the most precious natural areas in Europe. Peat bogs on the Pokljuka plateauare located in the area which is most heavily impacted by people. Sacrificing one peat bog for educational purposes is the price for preserving others. The trail runs around the peat bog which is located in the middle of an inhabited area.
