The Ibrahim Rauza is the tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah, Sultan of Bijapur in 16th century.
It has a mosque attached to it.
The mosque is pretty but the Rauza has exquisite calligraphy and inscriptions on its entire external walks.
Well worth a visit just for that. Though some of it us in a dilapidated condition as the calligraphy is in stucco and not stone

The Shiva statue at Shivgiri on the outskirts of Bijapur is the latest tourist attraction at Bijapur now known as Vijayapura. The statue is 85 feet tall and is believed to be the second tallest Shiva statue in India. The statue looks impressive & attractive. An amusement park for children is coming up at the venue. There is a Ganesha temple also in the same premises that has a black stone idol of Ganesha.

There is no entry fee to visit this attraction which has a grand Canon for display. The Canon is referred as the Malik-i-Maidan which means Master of the plains. This Canon is the greatest weapon possessed of the Deccan Sultanate. The Canon is made of combination of several metals. Iron is of course the primary element. There are inscriptions in Arabic and Persian on the Canon.

The Sultan of Bijapur started construction of this monument which a dream of making it higher than Gol Gumbaz and having it's shadow falling on Gol Gumbaz. The Sultan was killed in a conspiracy and the monument remained incomplete. Visiting this monument gives a feeling of it's magnificent start and strong foundation and great architecture.

Uppali Burz is a circular stone tower which served as a watch tower and also houses two massive very long cannons. The cannons remarkably are in a very good state opf preservation despite being exposed to the weather for more than 500 years. One can also get good views of the city from top.
