Bihar (/bɪˈhɑːr/; Hindustani pronunciation: [bɪˈɦaːr]) is an Indian state considered to be a part of Eastern as well as Northern India. It is the 13th-largest state of India, with an area of 94,163 km (36,357 sq mi). The third-largest state of India by population, it is contiguous with Uttar Pradesh to its west, Nepal to the north, the northern part of West Bengal to the east, with Jharkhand to the south. The Bihar plain is split by the river Ganges which flows from west to east. Bihar is an amalgamation of three main distinct regions, these are Magadh, Mithila and Bhojpur.

The place is so amazing and the positive vibes experienced inside the temples is beyond description. The place is so mesmerizing that you will feel absolute peace. It is advisable to hire a guide before entering the temple otherwise you will miss interesting facts about the temple. Guides are available at the entry gate and charges approx. INR 200.00 only. Mobiles, laptops, battery banks are not allowed inside the temple. Lockers are available free of charge.

Nalanda is a Buddhist university and monastery complex that existed in the V-XII centuries in the north of India, one of the largest educational centers of its time, in which many outstanding Buddhist philosophers from different countries worked and taught and where numerous pilgrims gathered.
The university was founded in the first third of the 5th century. Nalanda flourished during the reign of the Gupta dynasty.
In 1193 the university was destroyed because of the invasion of the predatory army led by Bakhtiyar Khalji, who planted Islam with force of arms. Thousands of monks were burned alive or beheaded, Nalanda's richest library was burned. This event dealt a great blow to Buddhism in India, which after that fell into decay.
At present, the ruins of the university are perfectly preserved and kept in a remarkable condition. It's always crowded here. Many pilgrims are brought here on excursions of schoolchildren.

This is a very big and beautifull jungle. Having beautiful flower and tree. You can see different types of birds here.
If you are going for safari then you can easily spot dear and peacock and monkeys easily. Tiger spotting is some what difficult.
Any way you can enjoy the jungle very well if you are a nature lover.

I went to Vishnupad Temple. As the name suggests, this temple was built as a dedication to Lord Vishnu and features a 40 cm long footprint of Lord Vishnu that is enclosed by a basin made of silver plates. It is great place to go.

This is a must for the pilgrimage as this is where Gautama became the Buddha. There are many monks and pilgrims, so it can get crowded around the tree. Do take a seat and breathe in the reverence people have for the Buddha. Although the tree may be the 4th or 5th generation, it is a site to see. Many people collect the leaves as momento or gifts. To get in, there are a couple of security check points, and no cellphones or iPads allowed. You can pay 100 rubies (about $1.50USD) to bring in a regular camera.

This is the peak where devadatta (siddhattha's cousin), tried to kill lord buddha by falling big stone onto lord buddha. Though the stone missed, but it caused little injury on buddha's foot. You hv to climb quite high, about 30 minutes walk onto the peak. The track was also the same as when King Bimbisara wants to meet Buddha
