This is a beautifully laid out tree climbing/ high wire adventure course. I visited with 4 children aged 8-13 and they had a blast. The courses radiate out from a central, massive oak tree and include 4 different difficulty levels (green, blue, red and black)and two course lengths (short and long) and include zip lines for every level or course. The instructors are helpful, friendly, and reassuring. The carabiner system used is very secure and once you get into it becomes second nature. Basically there is no way to totally unclip yourself from the wires once you are clipped on so very safe. The setting is gorgeous: an established leafy hillside in the dandenongs just adjacent Puffing Billy station, but with very little outside noise. It feels a bit like Lothlorien! The two hour slots are probably not enough to do all the courses, so if you really want to challenge yourself go for four. Also BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE- we tried to book in the school holidays and had only a 9am slot on Sunday available, and with a hour drive from Brunswick that was an early start for a Sunday!

PUFFING BILLY OPERATES DAILY (except Christmas Day). Puffing Billy is Australia’s favourite steam train and one of the finest preserved steam railways in the world. This century-old steam train continues to run on its original mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook in the magnificent Dandenong Ranges 40kms east of Melbourne. Puffing Billy was built to serve at the turn of the century and is a genuine relic of our more leisurely days. The Railway is the major survivor of four experimental lines used to develop rural areas in the early 1900s. Puffing Billy Railway is now a major tourist attraction and operates every day except Christmas Day, thanks to the tireless efforts of more than 600 dedicated volunteers.

Reminds me of when I was a kid - gorgeous cinema, comfy seats , smaller and more intimate than the commercial ones !!! Great for kids birthdays We came for a lesser known movie so our cinema was small and comfy - we loved it ! Love the idea that you can buy a wine and take it in with you !!

Birdsland is a 75ha bushland reserve located in Belgrave South. The reserve is home to many native animals and birds, including platypus. Birdsland is a great spot for a picnic or bush walk, with it's walking tracks, BBQ's and 28ha retarding basin. There is also an environmental education centre on site where our Environment team share important information about conservation and sustainable living with local school children.Park opens at 7.30am daily. Closing times vary seasonally, please check signs at park entrance for closing time.

Belgrave Lake Park is a great place for a family BBQ. There's lots to do, you can go for a walk along the trails. There are picnic tables for a gathering. Fortunately, trhere are toilets. There's also a basketball hoop. For dog owners, the park is an off-leash area for dogs. One interesting thing to noted is that this area hosts a substantial platypus population. When we drive to the vintage railway Puffing Billy, we always drop in at Belgrave Lake Park for lunch.

I went to Cognoscenti with my mum and dad for a couple of drinks celebrating their anniversary. The cheeses are unreal, vegan mushroom patte was to die for and the service was excellent. Great fit out too!
