Belfast has one of the nice city parks in all of the mid coast. It has also recently completely a sidewalk/curb renovation project that makes walking around the wharf area safer. The downtown area also has some of the best off street parking of any town along the coast. I was even able to park my truck with my camper in tow for a couple of hours to grab a bite to eat and catch a nap with no one bothering me.

We rode this trail with friends who live about 4 miles north of the Moose lake train station. It is well maintained and landscaped and nicely connects to the Belfast waterfront and pedestrian bridge. It is an easy flat trail, with bridges and nice views.

My wife & I were in Belfast visiting friends and decided to stop by the Farmers Market on Saturday. The market was mid-size and bustling with people. We wondered the isles checking out everything from cheeses, sweets and crafts. As you would expect at a Farmers Market, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping in for a perusal if you have the time.

The Belfast Historical Society & Museum is a hidden gem right off the town's center. I visited with my small group on a recent Saturday and we found the collection interesting and the staff friendly.
The museum is open to the public Mid-June to Labor Day on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. The 1830's brick structure houses the museum on its first floor and consists of three small rooms. One room features a nice costume exhibit and a fine Civil War Flag Quilt made in Belfast in 1864. Made by a group from the Ladies Volunteer Aid Society of the First Church of Belfast, Maine, the quilt is a rare survival. The names of the 22 women who sewed the quilt are written in the white stripes and inscriptions are featured all over the quilt. The city of Belfast is fortunate to have this wonderful quilt on display.
Photos of the town's prominent residents, dock workers, cars, ships made here, and military heroes are also on display. There is a counter from a pharmacy of yesteryear, paintings by local artists, and various mementos from Belfast history. The Museum also offers two brochures for free: Belfast History and Architecture Walking Tour of Downtown and the Waterfront as well as a Walking Tour of Church Street and Primrose Hill.
I loved this little museum and suggest a visit. Enjoy.

Whether you enjoy curling or just watching, the Belfast Curling Club is a fun place to spend a Saturday. Those who are interested are welcome to join the league. Others can come and have a beer or drink and sit in the stands to watch the excitement on the ice.

Ambiance is now in the same spot that many of us remember fondly as Old Stuff just across the street from the Belfast Post Office.
It is a shop that offers the delight of the hunt for the unusual.. a designer pillow crafted by Brenda Bonneville, the creative owner or a planter from Italy that has a touch of the Old World in its design or an old commemorative plate with the state of Kansas printed on it. The lamps are a main stay as they were with Old Stuff. And what fun just to hunt for the unknown.
Ambiance is a place to spend time poking and picking and almost always finding something unique.
Always a must when visiting Belfast no matter the time of year. The ambiance of this charming shop is pretty near perfect.

I love the yarns produced at Good Karma, and Amy and Jim (the owners) could not possibly be more welcoming. The yarns are soft and in luscious colors - great for sweaters, hats and socks - anything worn close to the skin. Amy is often...MoreThanks so much for the nice review!
