While most people come here to feed the fishes and there were many fishes of varying sizes, what we enjoyed most was exploring the intertidal zone to observe different sea creatures, we spotted hermit crabs, sea cucumbers and different species of fishes. Wear shorts and slippers which will allow you to wade into the water.

Jhihben National Forest Recreation Area is located in a famous hot spring town. Giant swallowtail butterflies (Papilionidae) flutter and dance among the white banyans (Ficus benjamina). The area is in the neighborhood of the Beinan (Puyuma), Ruikai (Drekay), and Paiwan (Payuan) tribes so featured materials of their indigenous culture appear everywhere. In addition to butterfly and bird watching, you may enjoy the cool experience of walking barefoot along the water flow foot massage trail.
