La Cave de l'Ange Garden is easy to find in Beune. We walked in and were greeted by a gentleman who inquired at what time was our appointment. Naturally, we had none but graciously he asked if we could return later because he had an opening for an English session in late afternoon. We thanked him for his hospitality and said we would return. Upon entering the tasting room a table complete with note paper and glasses was tastefully set. Our group of eight was from Switzerland and spoke English, my wife was the only female. We were entertained and enlightened onevery aspect of wine, from the meaning of color, the 'legs' of wine on glass, the difference of smell from the left nostril to right. I know this sounds tiresome! But it was not! We were fascinated and there was no shortage of laughter. In all, for 10 euro this was the best afternoon of our Burgundy trip. If you are in Beaune go BUT make an appointment.

We stopped in on TripAdvisor advice, so glad we did. The person pouring is one of the owners and winemakers, very knowledgeable. The wines( we had all Reds) were very very smooth and tasty. We were well schooled in the growing and making of their vinos. Very good tour. Very highly recommend.

In the last decade of the 19th century, Léonce Bocquet, owner of the famous Château du Clos de Vougeot and the surrounding 52 ha., decided to build huge vinification and maturation cellars for the wines of his various Domaines. The achievement of this project was entrusted to Albert Suisse, professor at the Art School. Cellars of an area of 2400 m2 and 6 meters high under the vault were finally constructed in 8 years. The building covering it shows red bricks and grey stones on the façade and a roof made of slate. An engraved stone bears the inscription “1888”, date of the completion of the work. When Henri de VIllamont purchased this magnificent building in 1964, the aim was to perpetuate this gigantic work: our prestigious wines are matured in these vaulted cellars and bottles in a special “antique” tinted glass.
The sommelier was friendly and accommodating to our visiting group of 4. Our wine tasting "fee" could be spent towards bottles of wine to take home, so the the tastings were essentially free. We really enjoyed the range of wines on offer and were suprised at how good the sparkling was!

Went on a day-long Burgundy wine tour. A wonderful, lovely winery committed to producing quality artisan wines, my personal favorite being the Pommard Rugiens Ier Cru 2005.

The Hôtel-Dieu is a former hospital founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of the Duke of Burgundy, and his wife, Guigone de Salins. It is only when you step into the main courtyard that you see the flamboyant roof with varnished tiles, a shining symbol of ducal Burgundy and now world famous. A classified historical monument : Take an audioguide and let Nicolas Rolin and Guigone de Salins walk you through the unique history and day to day life of the Hôtel-Dieu, from the 15th century to the present day! Their crowning achievement, this richly endowed hospital fondation, stays true to their original mission and still provides care for the sick. Museum / Cultural shop / Prestigeous area to hire out
Took the tour of the museum, here in this small and charming town. The building is well preserved, stunning, painted roof tiles, a lovely courtyard and replicas of the hospice inside the museum. Very interesting how people were cared for, after a war, the sleeping areas, medical treatment and kitchen can all be seen in the museum.

Beautiful Caves and Wonderful Wine Maison Joseph Drouhin boasts the oldest caves in Beaune, right at the heart of the city. Fascinating tour, finishing with great wine in the cellars from one of the most respected wine making families in France. Worth an hour and a half of your time.

Always a peaceful spot, so have an espresso and watch the ducks, then admire the view of unending haut cotes de Beaune vineyards from the top end of the Parc.

Visited the chateau for a tasting and it was absolutely beautiful. The building itself was beautifully restored and incredibly tasteful. The vineyards looked gorgeous and the cellars induced genuine unbridled envy about how the other half live - or should I say the other 0.0000001% Wine tasting was a real experience and their top end offerings were as good as anything I’ve ever tasted (apart from Michelle Prunier et Fille at nearby Auxey Duresses!) . Very courteous gentleman (possibly Etienne) steered us through the wines and opened some seriously posh bottles. His kindness and interest not to mention nearly English humour added hugely to our visit. They say money doesn’t make you happy but if you own Chateau de Pommard that’s patently nonsense!

230 years of history... THE GREAT VISIT Let you be swept away by the magic of our uncommon environment and its intensity. With its 5 kilometers of vaulted galleries under Beaune and its 2 million aging bottles, Patriarche offers its customers a real sensory experience. The marriage of wine and culture is a perfect success. The escape is complete and the eyes are sparkling Visit in the heart of Beaune the largest cellars of Burgundy.
We took the Patriarche Tour when we were in Beaune. We have toured the Alsace and the Champagne Regions and this was our first foray into this region. This was an excellent introduction and we did buy some wine and had it shipped to our home. This is a large cellar with very good wines and an excellent introduction for anyone who is looking for an introduction into Burgundy wines. The tour is informative and well done. You visit the caves and get a sense of the larger producer facilities which are all over Bourgogne. Good choice.

My wife discovered this incredible collection I think in a Michelin guide soon after we checked into our hotel in Beaune. I'm not sure if she regretted it later. We spent the better part of a day here, as I'm a near lifelong motorcyclist. The main event here is a truly mind-boggling collection of mostly vintage (50's and earlier) bikes, in varying degrees of restoration. I'd say that's my only complaint, that most bikes were not in exactly pristine condition. But the sheer volume of the collection is mind-boggling. And all the many, many models in row after row of display cases. I couldn't take them all in. I definitely took too many photos. I'd say the setting is almost as spectacular as the museums. It's a toss-up as to which is most startling: the rows and rows of motorcycles in an ancient castle, or outside the site of I don't know how many jet fighters just planted on lawns here and there on a typically beautiful French country estate. A little surreal. But for any gearhead like me, it was heaven. I'm not into fire engines or jet fighters that much, but I still spent a fair amount of time staring at those collections as well. and the Abarth racing car museum. and the small space exploration Pavilion, that's easy to miss outside. Pretty sure I forgot something else. You get the idea. If you're into this kind of stuff, I hope you have as patient a partner as I did with my wife. Plus, for anyone, the adjacent village is, like much of Burgundy, or for that matter France in general in my experience, charming and beautiful and full of great food and wine and friendly people. Highly recommended, at least for people a little obsessed like me :-)...
