Champagne Remy Massin et fils

Reviewed By matthewrW1538WQ - Camberley, United Kingdom

Based on other reviews we (two couples) travelled to Remy Massin Champagne following our Sat-Nav from Troyes which took about 35mins using the Peage. We decided to miss the tour at 3pm, electing to taste a couple of Champagnes with a view to purchasing a few bottles and arrived around 3.45pm. The tour and tasting was just finishing and those people were leaving and so we received a personal tasting session of 5 different Champagne varieties with the owners grand-daughter. We belive the Champagne is very good - based on our tasting as we have not actually opened a bottle on our return home yet - and we purchased a mixed case of six bottles each at an average price of c.16E/bottle (you get an increasing discount if you buy 6,12, or 24 bottles and they will split this if you go as a group). We were probably at the Champagne House for around an hour and it was a very enjoyable experience.

Definitely worth stopping by this church to see the architecture and stained glass windows. There are explanations in English about the different glass window panels, which definitely contributes to better understanding of their historical significance! There's also a lovely peaceful garden beside the church that make for a delightful overall visit!

Le Coeur de Troyes

Reviewed By Googly2010 - Tonbridge, United Kingdom

We are so glad we chose an overnight stay in Troyes as the city centre has a wealth of medieval buildings such as has long disappeared in the UK. It is a delightful town to wander through, with the river, canals (with playful sculptures dotted around) and lovely old buildings - we have seldom seen so many old timbered houses - as well as nine churches. There is a lively cafe/bar scene too. Having stayed overnight, a return visit looks very likely!
