Located in Ashbourne, Co. Meath and just 30 minutes from Dublin is Ireland’s only theme park and zoo, Tayto Park. With over 100 attractions to experience and enjoy, there is something for everyone; young, old and in between. For the thrill seekers, the Cu Chulainn, Ireland’s first rollercoaster and Europe’s first wooden rollercoaster with an inversion, is sure to get your adrenaline flowing. But that’s not all, there are a huge variety of attractions, 100+ in total. Challenge yourself high in the sky on the Extreme Climbing Walls or Sky Walk, let the kids explore our Playground, Steam Train Express or our Mini Ferris Wheel or take the Tayto Factory Tour, free with entry, and find out the history behind Tayto. And for those who don’t need an increased heart rate to have a good time, enjoy a laid-back stroll through our zoo, where you can interact with the exceptional animal collection, from the mischievous meerkats to the largest of the big cats, the amur tiger.
We took the kids here during our summer holiday in Ireland and they loved every second! There is something for everyone. My youngest was 4 at the time we visited, and enjoyed all the small rides, especially the ponies and the train. The older kids loved the big rollercoaster. I hated it (but only because I don't have the stomach for these things any more, ha!) We got to go inside the Tayto factory and all thought it was great, and we were tickled pink by the talking tree - make sure you don't miss that! The play park is incredible, too. I've never seen a park as big as that!
The thing we were most impressed with was the staff. They were all so friendly and approachable and we received excellent service throughout the day. The free packets of crisps on our exit was a lovely end to to our time at the park. We will have to plan another holiday in Ireland soon as the kids are desperate to go back to Tayto Park!

Absolutely loved our falconry display with Brian! He is so passionate about his birds and has fantastic knowledge! He showed us a great selection from owls to eagles to hawks and falcons. Great photo opportunities and finished with a hawk walk! Would highly recommend, thanks so much Brian!

My third time being reluctantly dragged along here...I find the food average and I cannot get a decent sausage on a brekkie favourite of Full Irish..they serve Cumberlands instead of our traditional choice...and given I have gone here for a breakfast I find their version of it below par and a good few locals feel that way too but they insist on going back!...Yes it is a busy place and is populated by families because of the petting farm attraction and others seem to enjoy it but for me there will be no 4th time...I have mentioned the sausage travesty 3 times to the proprietors but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears!!..eggs are great though!!!

Paud O’Donoghue’s Forge and Swan’s Bar is owned and run by the Swan family. It is situated in the historic and picturesque little village of Curragha in the Royal County and is one of Meath’s oldest music venues. It is a place where people and music from different generations and cultures meet to create one of the most unique Irish Pub experiences Ireland has to offer. The secret to our success is simple; to look after each person, not as a customer, but as an old friend, and with good drink and good craic, they’ll always come back. So whether it’s a quiet pint in front of a roaring open fire; a mouthwatering visit to our old sweet shop; soaking up the craic, music and banter in our bar; enjoying old-time waltzing and jiving in Patsy’s Lounge; visiting Paud O’Donoghue’s historic forge, or simply watching the world go by in our beergarden, Swan’s of Curragha is the place to be.
Visited over the May bank holiday with friends who stay locally. I have been before but a lot has changed since then. The outdoor area has been totally revamped and extended. Great food and drink available and there are various types of entertainment for all ages on. Great craic and a really friendly atmosphere throughout.

We stayed at the Pillo, which used to be the Marriott, for a second time. They are working to get Marriott status back and it is evident it's no longer the Marriott we'd originally stayed at. The in room toiletries were pretty awful and the towels were not very nice. However, the room and hotel were very clean even under construction. The staff were friendly however missing when we needed the exit gate opened and got stuck in the parking lot. We ended up having to lift the gate to get out. All in all, the hotel is nice and the staff friendly but when they were a Marriott it was noticeably nicer. I would stay again!

We had light rain when we started but luckily it eased off early in the round.
This is a typical member owned, parkland course within a half hour's drive of Malahide, through Swords but a bit further from Dublin. By typical, I mean designed with members rather than tourists in mind - it's inland, so don't expect stunning views of Mountains or the sea.
All that said, we found the course in great condition, with lots of trees, shrubs, water hazards and quite a varied, undulating topography. Greens were in top condition, as were the bunkers, green aprons and fairways.
It has a small river running through it. This features prominently on 2 of their best holes, the par 4 11th (2nd shot approach downhill to green with river at back) & 12th (a long index 1, so 3 shot approach recommended for high to middle handicappers).
The many undulations in the terrain are no trouble to younger and fitter golfers, but I found it a bit of a struggle later in the round because of a bad knee. Notwithstanding the knee, I enjoyed the round and the clubhouse facilities afterwards.

attended with 7 kids for a birthday party. All of the kids had socks from a trampoline centre in Dublin which were perfectly good but the girl at reception would not allow us use them and forced us to buy new pairs for everyone saying that they didn't know who manufactured the other socks which was total nonsense. It was just another way to get more money out of us. Girl was quite rude when we asked her about it. Won't be returning even though the kids had a good time.
