I enjoyed the zoo. The temp was mild and cloudy but most of the animals were out. There are no large animals at this zoo, no elephants, giraffes and the like. I appreciated that one of the zoo keepers took the time to talk about 2 of the black monkeys that I was viewing.

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Kent House is an authentic Creole plantation house built circa 1796 prior to the Louisiana Purchase. Tours of the house and outbuildings are available Monday through Saturday beginning at 9am, 10am, 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm.
