The Ashuwillticook rail trail is a well made and well maintained trail that goes by lovely scenery and has good facilities. There are numerous access points with parking, lots of benches and picnic tables, and interesting markers with information along the route. We biked the path and thought it was great. We saw lots of walkers and runners using the trail too. It's nice and wide so passing other people was never a problem. We especially enjoyed the section of the trail north of Cheshire which passes through a wetlands. The southern section, while having pretty views of the Cheshire reservoir, was a bit noisy from the nearby road traffic. Still - a great place to explore.

In the autumn sun light, the drive was an explosion of different colors. Once you get to the top, the parking lot is big but it fills fast. The views from the top are not to be missed. And you can get to walk on the Appalachian trail, even if it's only for a few feet (the trail passes close to the area at the top of the mountain where you will be going to get your pictures).

The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum, Inc. Is a not-for-profit corporation, dedicated to preserving the birthplace and raising public awareness of the wide-ranging legacy of the great social reformer, Susan B. Anthony, who was a pioneering feminist and suffragist as well as a noteworthy figure in the abolitionist, opposition to Restellism (opposition to abortion), and temperance movements of the 19th century. As part of its mission, the Museum will highlight the familial and regional influences which shaped Ms.Anthony's early life, by displaying the textiles and furnishings of that period, as well as the literature and other memorabilia associated with her later career.
Wow! I knew very little about Susan B Anthony until we visited her birth place. We had an excellent tour guide. I thought for sure that he was a history teacher. Turns out he is a lawyer. He gave us a fascinating hour and a quarter tour filled with lots of history and interesting stories. Admission is only $6.00 or free if you are a member of NARM. There are rest rooms and a store (I bought a pretty red kitted scarf).

The view from there is absolutely breathtaking! This is on the Mohawk Trail. We stopped for a coffee. It was what they call a pour over, made one cup at a time. It was delicious. We picked up some fresh baked scones for the later or the next morning. We also picked up a few other snacks that were tasty and freshly made. A definite stop.
