Deemed one of the top 5 whale-watching tours in America, and winner of TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice award. Founded by a published marine-biologist, woman owned and ran - guest adventures blend with environmentally responsible marine interactions. With year round whale watching and swimming with wild dolphins, marine biologists and/or seasoned naturalists lead charters that can also include guided snorkeling over the snorkeling reef habitats of brilliant fish and giant sea turtles. Earning the silver-level of Hawaii Ecotourism Associations' Sustainable Tourism, Wild Side has long participated in environmental protection through education and action, while promoting sustainable travel. A portion of revenues are donated to the Wild Dolphin Foundation while onboard citizen science is dedicated to data gathering, marine conservation/education, and regulatory reform.

Our ocean safari, lead by marine biologists and naturalists, is based on the leeward coast of the island of Oahu. We are dedicated to guiding guests to a low impact interaction, in and out of the water, with wild dolphins, turtles, and pristine living coral reefs year round. We also add whale watching during the winter months. We specialize in safely leading small groups on our state of the art 34 foot ridged inflatable Scarib with our lifeguard certified crew.

A popular beach for surfing.
We live close by and this is our beach of choice on the Leeward side. Lifeguards are awesome, saved my brother's life one day. RESPECT the ocean at all times but esp here. Never turn your back to it! Gorgeous views, lots of local talented surfers!

At the very end of Mokuleia where the road dead-ends is Kaena Point State Park with its secluded sandy coves and huge wide-open spaces. The hiking trail follows a deeply rutted unpaved Jeep road with dozens of small seaward paths branching off to the ocean’s edge. If you opt to hike the full round-trip trek from Kaena Point to Yokohama Bay on the Leeward Coast, you’ll need roughly three hours, ample stamina, plenty of water, sunscreen, snacks, body cover and your camera.
It's a beautiful hike to the western tip of the island. Rather easy hike unless it rained one or two nights before. It is really hard to dotch all of the puddles on the path. Would not recommend this for older people or youngsters after rain. Take plenty of water with you. There are tide pools at the end. Wear/take bathing suit and definitely water shoes. No shade on the hike or by the tide pools. My favorite hike on Oahu.
