Embrace nature and flower gardens with a picnic or leisurely hike up the rolling hillsides of Yangmingshan. The park is accessible by public bus.
Would recommend to hike Mt Qixing from Xiaoyukeng as the entrance to the trail is just next to the bus stop at the Xiaoyukeng Recreation Area. Do use the toilets there as there are none along the trail. I took bus 260 at Taipei Main Station (north exit 2) to the Yangminshan Bus Terminal. Transfer to small shuttle bus 108 that makes its round in the park. Easycard is acceptable or have exact change of NTD15/ride. Took about 1.5hrs to Mt Qixing Main Peak, another 15mins to the East peak & another hour downhill to Lengshukeng Recreation & Visitors Centre. Was a lovely hike on a sunny day with 360degrees of Taipei.

Experience the ancient traditions of Chinese landscaping with the majestic home of the Lin family. A pond, square pavilion and ornamental plants such as cypress, plum and bamboo adorn the majestic garden. Each Chinese New Year there is a chrysanthemum exhibit.
I had a few hours to spare when last in Taipei so I visited the Lin family mansion and this used to be one of the major landmarks in its hey day. Lovely gardens and paths with classical old residences. I wouldn't say its drop dead impressive but glad I visited all the same. There is an NT$80 (US$2.50) entry fee. To get there get of the MRT at Fuzhong station (Blue line station6). Walk along Fuzhong road and turn right on Wenchang road then left at Ximen street. The mansion is only a minute walk from there. In closing I also liked the fact that the crowds were small and the few that were there can easily be avoided as the grounds are quite large. Hope this helps.

There are lots of nice scenic views in this huge National Park. It offers beautiful breathtaking views of the mountains, cliffs, coastline and sea. There are some nice trails, some have broad walks so lots of places for exploring. There are plenty of wildlife. Great place to visit and relax.

The gondola cable cars take you from the edge of Taipei over 300 meters up to Maokong Station in the mountain range beyond the city. Although there is a ‘crystal cabin’ option with glass-bottomed cars, we took the standard gondola cars in both directions to and from Maokong Station where we stopped for lunch. The views going up and coming back are breathtaking, the panoramic vistas incredible! Highly recommend!

Taipei's version of New York City's Central Park, this park is 26 hectares, the size of three major league baseball fields. Take a walk around the ecological pond, enjoy a meal
I usually find time to run despite my busy sched on tour. This place is really a running haven as it has huge area to run into and wide options to choose on what type of pavement, clay, asphalt or blocks. A 1.75 kms run covering your planned mileage. I also notice that a lot of elders enjoying this place as they have different groups of taichi enthusiasts who has its own distinction in terms of color coded uniforms. They also like hanging out with nature seat g on the trees, breathing fresh air and just hang out in their first activity on the morning. Pls take note that don't miss out this place when you are in Taipei.

Stayed for a night. Room are comfortable, well maintained and clean. Huge and bright room. Bed is comfortable. Lots of activity within the farm. There is a mini river that can row bamboo boats, a mini golf putting range, a mini zoo, a cute petting zoo and a mini bird park. The Farm itself is not huge but needs at least one full day to trully enjoy every part of it. lots of photo opportunities. The surroundings is well maintained and there is insect repellent provided in a small wooden hut around the farm. Staff around the farm are friendly, professional and helpful. There is a restaurant within the farm that serves lunch and dinner. Its better to book the room together with the meals as it will be cheaper. There is also a few cafe around the farm to have a coffee break if needed. Breakfast served is delicious and fresh.

This trail is included in most tour itineraries for Taroko Gorge. It is easy to walk along the road and you need to wear a helmet. You can see the caves in the cliffs where the swallows nest. Didn't see any swallow though. Very beautiful scenery with the river below, steep cliffs and caves.
