Gardens where you can watch butterflies and learn more about flora and fauna native to Florida. Trails leading past a preserved 19th century sugar mill ruins and statues of dinosaurs.
This spot was a sugar mill in the 1800’s when FL was a wilderness, an amusement park in the 1950’s and now a memorial garden. There is a wonderful display of the old sugar mill and the history of the Seminole battle that took place here. Then explore the gardens looking for the dinosaur statures built for the amusement park. The volunteer gardeners do a wonderful job with all the local greenery and flowers! Cracker Creek is an environmental and historical treasure of Port Orange. Located on the western side of scenic Spruce Creek, this 20 acre sanctuary is a natural home for a variety of endangered plants and animals that can be seen by boat or on foot. Cracker Creek is a pure nature preserve and is perfect for many recreational activities such as boating, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, group camping, and hiking.
We scheduled a dedicated pontoon tour with a guide of Spruce Creek from the Cracker Creek location just west of Port Orange. For 10 people they will schedule a personal tour. WE had 7 but paid for 10 to get the tour. Dedicated 2 hours running east from their location. Saw alligators, manatees, many fish, turtle, and lots of exotic birds. At their Cracker Creek location there are wild peacocks all over the place. Their males were showing off to the females since it is mating season with full fanning of their feathers and shaking their rump fluff to impress the girls. They make a cool jungle bird sound when they roost in the trees. Kids loved it and we got some great pics up close. the guide was very knowledgeable, safe, and the ride was slow and very comfortable on a large pontoon boat, I mean very large. Allowed coolers with drinks. There is a potty on the boat, enclosed. Highly recommended. It is “old Florida” at its best. Also visited the Procter property next door, the original site of the P&G family winter residence. Very informative. Great for families especially with kids. A lot of tours advertise manatees, this one produced.

Great variety of restaurants, Gabbies Pizza, San Diego Grill, Five Guys, Red Robin to name a few, variety of stores, Michaels, Home Goods, Belk, Dollar Tree, Party City, Petco, to name a few, Regal theater. Plenty of parking. Farmers market on the weekend. We went to the movies on our last visit and then to dinner at Gabbie's Pizza which does not just have pizza. Food is very good there.

There is a pavilion and a playground for kids in one section of it. There is a kayak ramp a little further down with parking areas. There is a long wooden walkway to two covered seating areas where you can fish and enjoy the cool breeze. I really enjoyed the time we spent here! We didn’t use the pavilion or hiking areas but they seemed nice. I was more interested in the area near the water. I liked the birds and got a chance to see a small stingray of some type. It was exciting to watch it eat. Come by and relax!

My wife and took out 11-year old son and 9-year old daughter to this place during Spring Break... and we had a blast. We were on our way from Palm Coast en route to Orlando, and we were looking for a fun, inexpensive option for the kids to have fun... and with this place - we hit the jackpot. Go Karts are only part of what this place offers. We did a few rounds of the batting cages, and shot a round of 18-holes on their mini-golf area. There's even a modest arcade on the inside with vending and gumball machines. Price-wise: even though they advertise their "best-deal" on the outside of the ticket counter... we went online and found a deal where we could get 4 trips around the Go-Kart track per person, a couple of rounds of mini-golf and about 10 minutes at the batting cages for less than $30. Apparently - there was also coupons for this place at nearby hotels. (We had a paper coupon for this place that we had scored at our hotel in Palm Coast - which is about 25 miles north. We found a better deal online; but nonetheless, its another option). The service here was really good, too. The guy manning the Go-Karts let our kids go around the track a couple extra time as a courtesy to our kids. That was really cool; they're not too strict on the four-lap rule, depending on how busy it is. We had a great time and would definitely be back if we're back in town!
