Established in the Himalaya foothills by a British Army officer in 1820, the "Queen of the Hills" stands above the rest with its deep woods, favorable climate and Doon Valley views. Its name is derived from the berry-covered Mansur shrub found in abundance around this trekker-friendly area. Vestiges of its colonial past are still reflected in the cuisine and architecture. For stunning natural sights, head to Gun Hill or Childer's Lodge, the two highest peaks, or the famous Kempty waterfall.

CBD is easily the No-1 book store in the country. A family run independent book shop the owner brothers have deep knowledge on the subject and about Mussoorie based writers. You can easily spend 2-3 hours at the shop browsing through their collection or just chatting with them. They have the best collection of Ruskin Bond books in the country. Every Saturday evening India's favourite author Ruskin Bond comes down to the shop to meet his fans and sign the books for them.

There are amazing views in this beautiful wooded park in including The Himalayas. There is also a very special viewpoint called Flag Hill which is adorned with Tibetan flags and where you make a wish or blessing. Wear hiking boots. Although the trail is not too tough there are stones underfoot & you need to have a good grip. Definitely go with a guide. Ours brought binoculars and pointed out some of the rare birds & showed us footage from the hidden cameras that showed a leopard in the same spot as we were only hours before!

Kasmanda Palace is a unique living history museum constructed around 1836. One of the oldest surviving buildings of Mussoorie. It was a part of the Christ Church complex, which was built in 1836. Walking in the corridors will take you back in time with old picture of the Royal family and is also a mini natural history museum. Great views of the town and lovely gardens. A great day out.
The view is the best and awesome Must try tea with pakoras and the evening will be well spent Awesome place and must visit for mussoori

This is the first church where soldiers were allowed to carry the rifles inside to avoid them getting stolen. The benches having notched pews to rest the rifle during worship. The church is surrounded by tall pine/ deodar trees and looks absolutely beautiful. Photography is not allowed inside the church. Lovely 3.5 km walk with a view of the majestic himalayas. On a nice clear day the snow clad mountains look breathtaking. Just a great walk. Better done in the morning
