Enjoyed another delightful hike on the paths of the forest preserve. They are very well maintained. You can hike for different distances but it is always well maintained and beautiful. We enjoyed the wildlife. We felt very safe on the path.

This extraordinary forest preserve is worth a visit any time of the year. Becuase of this season's heavy snowfalls, not all of the paths had been cleared. You could tell from tracks in the snow that this did not stop visitors with appropriate footwear from striking out across the terrain. During this particular visit, ice skating was forbidden, but ice fishing was going on. I couldn't resist taking photos of groups of fisherpeople scattered across the lake -- some drilling holes as I watched. The thaw is coming. Because this property is so large and has so much parking, it is very easy to social distance during your visit. See earlier reviews for more details (May 9, 2020; July 18, 2017; and September 4, 2016).

Public library to engage the community, inspire creativity, and enrich minds. Between programs, books, DVDs, or even streaming devices, the library has everything anyone could want!
I've come to appreciate this local resource more & more. Beyond the expected collection of older & modern released books, movies, audio CD's, and reference materials, this Library provides some of the best environments to read and relax. Community events are hosted often with scheduled programs available for multiple ages. You should also take the time to view some of the historical displays, such as the Lake County quilt at the top of the staircase. Their hours are in line with other Libraries in the area and the facility is always well kept.

See the compelling story of the first Christmas that will change your life forever. Everyone longs for that warm and meaningful holiday experience with their family. It’s time to step away from the average Christmas. Every year, people express a sense of fulfillment and purpose after experiencing one of these powerful performances. This story will captivate your emotions and immerse you in a world
Oh WOW. The Pageant was like a beautiful gift. As the gift was unwrapped, you saw the real meaning of Christmas. God became one of us to give us eternal life. What a fabulous performance full of exciting pageantry and truth. I was so touched by the entire story of Jesus Christ and was reminded of His love for me personally. A must see for all ages next year!

How anyone can complain about this place is beyond me. You step in the door and you're greeted by Michael Keaton's Batmobile and Pee-Wee Herman's bicycle, as well as a variety of different bicycles and Duesenbergs, from there you're introduced to classics for sale in the primary showroom, movie cars and props, the celebrity collection, and whatever else in on site for your viewing pleasure.

Lipizzaner Stallions have been enchanting audiences for 450 years. Witness art and history come to life at one of our Matinee or Evening Performances or during a Behind-The-Scenes Tour (available by appointment only). From the playful bounding of new foals to the strong, precise jumps of our stallions, the whole family will be captivated by the strength, beauty, and intelligence of these horses. Each performance, to music, is a study in classical horsemanship which has been practiced in Europe since the 16th century; the Lipizzaners have been performing at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria since the 1500’s. There are very few places in the United States where such an art can be observed. We offer a taste of Vienna, Austria right in your back yard. Performances begin mid June and run through mid September.
First I don't understand the negative reviews. It appeared these individuals knew something about dressage, etc. You must judge by what you see. It's not easy doing synchronized riding on stallions no less. If you want to see perfection then go to a horse-show. I particularly loved the showing of the mares and foals where they actually turned the foals loose in the dressage arena and they were able to interact with each other. It was priceless. We opted for the Wine/cheese and cracker brunch and were able to talk to one of the owners. Very refreshing since we flew in from El Paso, Texas our closest major airport from southern New Mexico. Seeing the Lipazzan Stallions has always been a dream. I would love to go to Vienna to the Spanish Riding School.

I like the movie theater because it is never crowded (at least when we choose to attend), clean, has good selection of movies and nice atmosphere. I wish they have Starbucks inside as I prefer to drink good coffee with croissant instead of eating popcorn

Grew up swimming at Rosewood and lesser known Ravine Drive. Both are decent beaches to cool off in and Rosewood is fairly big.

This is a unique State Natural Area that was created when the Wisconsin Glacier retreated over 12,000 years ago. Many see it as a wonderful place to hike the great trails but it is so much more than that. It is a wonderful location for bird enthusiasts, it has an amazing assortment of wildflowers (in season) and other wetland plants you are unlikely to see at most State or National Parks. They have an outstanding staff and the Bog tours, scheduled bird walks, naturalist hiking tours and astronomy groups are scheduled on a regular basis. Be sure to call ahead if you want to join one of the organized groups or just show up if you would like to check it out yourself. This is a "must see" for the nature lover that is willing to look a bit closer to everything that is available at this fabulous State Natural Area.. and it is all free.

Lately I have become interested in a Japanese outdoor wellness practice called "shinrin-yoku". It translates as "to bathe in the atmosphere of forest" and provides stress relief and relaxation. The tranquil paths of Ryerson are the perfect location for this. Park at Brushwood or the Visitors' Center and choose a path into the Conservation Center. You will immediately find yourself in quiet surroundings where you can easily expand your connection to nature through your senses. I have been coming to Ryerson for decades, but COVID-restricted lifestyle changes have made me appreciate this place even more. Perhaps I'll see you there. I'll be the one in the "Ryerson helped me survive the pandemic" T-shirt. See my earlier reviews (January 12, 2013; October 39, 2016; October 14, 2019; and April 16, 2020) for more details.
