Home to over 230 birds of prey with 3 flying demonstrations a day, come and enjoy the Centre as visitors have been doing for more than 50 years. Explore the gardens and woodland, grab a bite to eat in the cafe and see everything from Pygmy Falcons to Steller's Sea Eagles! COVID Changes - please note that we have restrictions in place. All tickets must be purchased through our website and we have temporarily changed our flying demonstrations to 12pm and 3:30pm.
Best flying show I have seen, really interesting education about the birds and very passionate people, the birds welfare is a priority and they do some great work - we loved it so much we stayed for the second flights, highlight was the Sea Eagle in flight and the Burrowing Owl and the x4 kites flying together, peregrine was amazingly fast and the European owl so silent, vultures too were fascinating, highly recommend for everyone - food was good too at the cafe and locally sourced and rubbish recycled. Do go along and support them as I imagine it is very expensive to run, they do rescue work as well and breeding programme for the endangered species.

Fascinating one hour tour with a short walk down the pit. Very informative and insightful. Couldn’t fault Richard who was our patient guide (and also a miner) - a real character with a great sense of humour. Loved it. Great cafe too.

A Museum housed in the original G.W.R. Goods station of 1883! The Great western railway Museum is housed in one of the last remaining permanent railway buildings left in the Forest of Dean on the original site of Coleford's railway yard. Its full of local railway history and artefacts it also has a 71/4 gauge miniature railway which runs around its site for all age groups! also has a full size Peckett locomotive in the engine shed and restored signal box.
The volunteers were very friendly and demonstrated the signal box providing a lot of interesting detail on the equipment and methods used. A trip round on the miniature steam railway and a good look round the museum - packed with items and information on the railways of the area. Good value for money. Very enjoyable few hours!

My girlfriend booked for the experience for my 30th Birthday. The best most intimate contact you will get with alligators in the UK for certain! Beautiful alligators, charismatic in their own ways but Very tame and you are in safe hands. All the guys here were friendly, very laid back atmosphere, all round amazing experience. Even got an experience session with Wendy the largest female Mississippi Aligator ( incredible) as they said we had travelled a distance to see them they wanted us to make the most of it. Can’t thank these guys enough for yesterday, it was a dream come true.

Considered one of the most extensive and complete Roman villas in England, this structure was occupied from the late second century to the mid-fourth century.
The floors and foundations of a large Roman Villa with the mosaics of the principal rooms under a specially created building with floating walkways as well as other outlying remains set in a most peaceful head-of-the-valley setting in a remote location. There’s plenty of outside space to sit, stroll and picnic, a small museum in a Victorian hunting lodge, a National Trust visitor centre with shop & etc. Parking is either immediately adjacent or a short stroll away. Well worth the trip.

Dyrham Park is home to a 17th-century house and formal garden set in ancient parkland. In 2015/16, the house underwent a huge conservation project to replace the leaking roof and install a biomass boiler. The house and garden are now in a state of transformation and include new tours, areas and exhibitions.
This is a lovely National Trust house with beautiful gardens, car park at the entrance, and you can either take the shuttle bus or walk down the hill to the house, and main gardens. If you're lucky you may see deer in the grounds. Highly recommended.

Perrygrove Railway runs for 3/4 mile through farmland and woods on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Ride the steam train to all our activities including the unique Treetop Adventure - 5 houses up in the trees, fully accessible and safe - our covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods. See our collection of vintage trains (operating on two special days each year). Unlock a casket of treasure! Fun guaranteed. Picnics welcome - or enjoy our cafe serving sandwiches and light refreshments. Lots of special events, including days when Mr. Chuffity is here to show children how the Friendly Engines work and tell stories. Low cost family tickets - nothing else to pay (except the optional Treasure Hunt).
We decided to visit Perrygrove as we were looking after our youngest grandchildren and wanted to take them on a railway experience. The children are quite young, aged 3 and 5 years and the experience catered for young children as well as their older siblings. We had a lovely time as the venue includes train rides, a cafe, gift shop, various exciting play areas, including a tree top adventure an indoor village and a treasure trail. The children were able to access all of the play areas. There were also areas where people could just sit and enjoy watching the train on its route.
