In the 17th century it became an English garrison fort and later served as part of a military barracks. The Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail meanders through one of the largest expanses of blanket bog in Northern Ireland, traversing over tracks, boardwalk and staircase. You will explore and experience a different world along this walk, its scenic, enchanting and ever-changing landscape will captivate you. Your final ascent is via a steep section of steps, these are not for the faint of heart!
