The Association of Volunteers for the Service in Protected Areas (ASVO), Costa Rican ONG, with over 25 years of experience, has the pleasure of inviting you to know and promote the trail Cerro Tortuguero, located in the heart of the largest wetland of Costa Rica. We are only mountainous elevation found of the Caribbean coast of our national territory, found simply 10 minutes from the Tortuguero National Park and inside the Barra Del Colorado Life Refuge. Starting in December of 2018, ASVO has been given the permission by the SINAC for the operation of the Cerro Tortuguero trail. It is a trail with an elevated design where the visitors do not walk directly on the soil of the forest and in this way prevent the erosion and compression of the ground caused by the flow of visitors, offering a safe and comfortable experience for our visitors.
