Calling itself "The Heart & Soul of the Chesapeake Bay," the town of Saint Michaels, Maryland retains the look and feel of a 19th century seaport. Walk on red brick sidewalks past the Victorian homes and boutique shops of the historic district, or head down to the pier in search of famously fresh seafood. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum preserves the history of Saint Michaels, with restored examples of "bugeyes" and "skipjacks," unique boats developed by the fisherman of Chesapeake Bay.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our massages. She is working remotely and I knew she could use a break and help get some relief from her “tech neck”. I took the day off from my work and had a great staycation day capped off by a great massage. Highly recommend!

Dave from Shore Pedal and Paddle was awesome. It was easy to text with him to arrange our SUP. He drove the paddle boards down to the water 1 block and helped us carry and launch them. He provided good recommendations and warnings about the wind! We had so much fun SUPing, we came back the next day and rented bikes. The equipment and service was great! Highly recommend!

We adore this little shop and come here a few times a year to stock up on olive oils and balsamics. In fact, Olivins oils and balsamics are the only thing we use on our salads and in our cooking now. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and he has a ton of great ideas as far as using the various oils and balsamics in recipes. Definitely a great little shop. Looking forward to our next visit to St. Michael's and stopping in again.

LYON RUM Distillery is a micro distillery located in Saint Michaels, Maryland, steps from the Chesapeake Bay. Founded in 2012, the distillery launched with a signature line of rums paying tribute to the rich, spirited traditions of the Eastern Shore. Hand-crafted from start to finish, LYON RUM begins as intentionally-sourced raw ingredients, and are hand-crafted – mashed, fermented, and double-distilled in small pot stills – every step of the way, resulting in a superior and unique final product. The goal is to create distinct spirits – working to define the category of new American rum. The distillery is also home to Gray Wolf Craft Spirits, a boutique operation offering grain-to-glass spirits.
The barista was very knowledgeable and "walked" us through the various selections offered by Lyon's Distellery. We had fun tasting the many varieties, and purchased several.

Learned a great deal about how the English settlers treated the Native Americans (who taught them about oysters and crabbing); the two black resorts built in the Jim Crow era; the story about the yacht Isabel (was in a different slip than advertised - near the reconstruction shed) which was donated to the museum along with large funding grants to build the museum building; how life was like on a screw-pile lighthouse remotely placed in the bay. Got an entrance fee discount by having a Blue Heron coffee cup. May also apply to other local businesses.

Although Covid has placed restrictions on most all businesses St Michaels found a way to still deliver a very enjoyable expeirence. The "flights" offered a chnce to see what you wanted to take home at an agreeable price. Before this place I'd never tried a wine slushy. Now I make them at home with wine I bought from the winery. A cool day trip!
