Verbano-Cusio-Ossola (Italian: Provincia del Verbano Cusio Ossola [verˈbaːno ˈkuːzjo ˈɔssola]) is the northernmost province in the Italian region of Piedmont. It was created in 1992 through the fusion of three geographical regions which had previously been part of the Province of Novara. The area flanking the western shore of Verbano (or Lago Maggiore) forms the eastern part of the province; Cusio (or Lago d’Orta) and its environs form the southern part; while the north and west of the province consists of the Ossola, a region of Alpine mountains and valleys. The ISO code for the province is VB.

The new family park on Lake Maggiore, 19 minutes from Cannero Riviera. Adventure trails, mini-jeeps, playground & restaurant Grotto Carza. Ideal for children, super fun for adults, hyper-relaxing for mom and dad.

Walking straight up takes 20 minutes but taking longer you can enjoy the artwork of the individual chapels - the painting, the frescoes, the the scenery of the surrounding mountains - magic.

I don't do usually do waterfalls. But after a strong recommendation from our hotel, I am glad I was flexible. This waterfall is quite simply stunning and mesmerising. The waterfall is the 2nd highest in Europe apparently. But I think you got a better sense of the size and perspective by standing at the bottom. If you are at the bottom when the waterfall is in full flow (11.30am-to1.30pm) you might need a rain jacket - I just sat there and watched the water pounding the rocks for half an hour. There is more parking at the top of the waterfall, along with a viewing platform of sorts, which gives great views back down the valley. This is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the area.

The Valle Vigezzo is a beatiful Valley with an entrance in Italy and another in Switzerland. It is a fantastic place both in summer than in Winter. In summer there is a lovery cycling/walking road in the woods that connects most of the villages. The same road in the winter months is a perfect crosscountry ring. From the valley it is possible with a cable-car to reach La Piana where downhill skiing is possible. In the valley there are many chaming villages. The altitude is not very high and many vegetation is present, so also in the very hot summer days it is possible to find a spot in the shadow.

This small lake is absolutely fantastic. The scenery is wonderful, the water is uncontaminated. The village that gives its name is a jewel of small streets and cobblestones and a nice ice cream and pastries are deliciously available with a loving lake view. Much nicer than the more famous Stresa. And less pretentious.
