Lyme Regis /ˌlaɪmˈriːdʒɪs/ is a town in West Dorset, England, 25 miles (40 km) west of Dorchester and 25 miles (40 km) east of Exeter. It lies at Lyme Bay on the English Channel coast at the Dorset–Devon border. It is nicknamed "The Pearl of Dorset". It is noted for fossils found in cliffs and beaches that are part of the Heritage Coast—known commercially as the Jurassic Coast—a World Heritage Site. The harbour wall known as "The Cobb" appears in Jane Austen's novel Persuasion, in the John Fowles novel The French Lieutenant's Woman, and in the 1981 film of the same name, which was partly shot in Lyme Regis. Its one-time mayor and MP was Admiral Sir George Somers, who founded the English colonial settlement of the Somers Isles, now known as Bermuda. Lyme Regis is twinned with St George's, Bermuda. In July 2015 Lyme Regis also became "tripled" with Jamestown, Virginia, as the Historic Atlantic Triangle of Lyme, St George's and Jamestown. The 2011 Census gave the parish and electoral ward a population of 3,671.

Just had to let people know how much we enjoyed the Sunday session last week. This open mic event takes place roughly once a month to showcase local musicians who just turn up and play. We had 3 hours of enjoyment being entertained by a wide variety of acts, all of which we enjoyed. The young lady who played the cello deserves a special mention as she was particularly good and has a brilliant voice as well as being a great musician. Thanks also to the nice lady behind the bar. No to be missed if you're in town.

Friendly staff and fellow customers. An extensive menu which all staff were happy to guide you through. Child and dog friendly, a great place to visit. A gem!

Lyme Regis Brewery is a small brewery in the artisan centre of Lyme Regis. We make many different styles of English Real Ale. We run brew days where and you can come in and watch the fun, smell the malt and hops and, of course, taste the beers. Sit with a pint of our beer in the Town Mill courtyard and drink in the atmosphere at this historic location. We look forward to seeing you.
This gorgeous jewel, tucked away from the throng of Lyme Regis, suits the beer connoisseur and in a courtyard with a cafe, pottery demo & a museum with working water wheel, offers great entertainment. The brewery sells three draft beers from hand pump, keg lager & own-distilled gin. Welcoming and a great place to visit.

We last went here in 1996. Great to revisit. Featured in Jane Austen's " Persuasion" and " The French Lieutenants Woman" , this historic breakwater provides great views over the harbour and reeks with atmosphere. A grey but dry ( for a llittle while) day with no wind- an excellent time to visit. Wonderful place.

Very attractive municipal formal gardens cut into a steep hill park. Great views, and very imaginative planting in some lovely borders. Worth the struggle uphill- or better to start at the top near the car parks.
