Second time we have been here and it didn’t disappoint. Been to other markets in other cities in Germany, but this is our favourite by a mile! It has everything, from wine, beer and food! Gifts in every other stand, and just a general great place! We walked so much and saw so much, our 5 year old loved all the rides as well as all the Christmas lights! Thank you Hannover!

I enjoyed very much my time spent at Maschsee although weather was not the best for outdoor activities. It is an artificial lake in a walking distance from the city center, suitable for all possible free time activities. It was built in 30th last century and one can identify sign of it. Especially the colummn with Olympic torch runner on its top takes a breath away and scare a bit at the other hand knowing in what intention such monuments were built and what followed. Anyway it makes this place not only recreation area but also historical place worth a more research.

The over 300 year old Herrenhäuser Gärten are a fascinating garden ensemble. It consists of the baroque Großer Garten, the botanical Berggarten and the Georgengarten in english landscape style.
One of the top attractions in Hannover, you can spend a few hours enjoying you walk, which includes magnificent buildings, botanical gardens, the famous fountain, impressive landscaping etc. Especially good in summer when the sunshines!

Lovely day out. Lots of enclosures being up dated . Walk through areas which children and adults enjoy eg pelicans , wallaby, under ground to see penguins, seals, polar bears. Food reasonably priced and toilet facilities clean. Worth a visit.

A real Mecca for plant lovers is the Berggarten. What began around 1700 as a mulberry plantation for silkworm breeding is now a much-noticed botanical garden. The collections in the open air and in the show houses reflect the flora on all continents. The orchid collection is of worldwide importance. The Berggarten offers visitors a variety of beautiful plant treasures at any time of the year.

This building, one of many in the old city which was destroyed during WWII and later rebuild is very important and quite beautiful.
