At first, I went to this place to just have a simple relaxing massage as I always do during the resort stay. However, after talking with Mr. Vinh, I changed my plan to take a neuromuscular treatment, which was a great choice I can say. I have known that my body is a bit unbalanced, which causes many muscular pains and uncomfortable feelings in my daily life. Still, it has been difficult for me to find a right way to heal the entire body. Then, the neuromuscular treatment at TINH was the answer! During the treatment, it sometimes came with pains - however, this was because the therapist (Mr. Vinh) understood so well that where I have problems in my body. He pointed out and treated the problematic part accordingly. It was a very unique experience to feel my body lighter after the therapy. I highly recommend the treatment.

Troc's Kitchen & Cooking Class

One of the best ways to learn about a new country during your journey is to explore local recipes, and there's no better way to become well-versed with a new cuisine than to make it yourself. Troc's kitchen and cooking class is their set of delicious recipes giving every learner the opportunity to taste and create a variety of staple Vietnamese dishes in half-day cooking.

During my 3-day stay on Phu Quoc island, I visited two classes at Troc's kitchen. I loved them both! During the first class i was the only student, so I got to chat with Troc the whole time. I really enjoyed that first class, where we made a lot of internationally known Vietnamese eats, including deep fried spring rolls with taro, carrot, and pork, noodle salad with pork (bun thit nuong?), Vietnamese rice pancakes, and caramelized fish. The dishes were ones that I will definitely make at home, because they were easy and not too time-intensive. This hasn't always been the case when I've done other cooking classes in Asia - in Thailand for instance we made red curry with duck, and while it was cool to make red curry paste by hand, the chances of me doing that on my own are relatively low, even though I love cooking. Troc's dishes, however, are practical and contained ingredients that I can definitely find at home. Now, that first class was fun, but while we were chatting, I mentioned to Troc that I had eaten mi quang in central Vietnam and really loved it. So he said that if I wanted to come back the next day for the evening class, we would make it as one of the dishes. WHAT!? Not wanting to miss a chance to learn to make this dish, I signed up. The class had only a few other students (Troc's classes are always small) but we all got to know each other and chat during the class. Plus, we made food that was even more amazing than our first class - fresh spring rolls, mi quang, nem nuong (lemongrass pork skewers), and braised pork with coconut water. This food was the best I had on Phu Quoc Island. Troc's class is definitely a great place to spend your time - good company and good food, and small classes. In both classes, Troc was a patient and kind teacher, and he is easy to understand and fun to talk with. All of the food was high-quality, and Troc definitely knows what he's doing. I cook a lot but I learned a few things about making coconut milk by hand and caramelizing fish, two things that I didn't know much about! The space is a open-air, so don't expect a/c, but it was comfy for the most part. It was also worth bringing mosquito repellent if the weather is rainy, as the skeeters tend to come inside. But overall the space was comfortable and pleasant to be in, and like I've already mentioned, the food was GREAT. Go cook with Troc - you won't be sorry!

I walked in today looking to get a Thai massage and was welcomed with fruit infused water, a cool towel and bowls of candy. I was promptly escorted to a lovely massage cubicle completely with relaxing music and a lovely scent. My 60-minute massage was absolutely amazing. It was on par with the best massages I’ve had in Thailand. My therapist was extremely skilled and made me feel simultaneously completely relaxed and energized. She worked over every single muscle in my legs and back and did a very thorough job eliminating all the knots and tensions in my back. The treatment is a little pricey by Vietnam standards (450’000 VND for 60 minutes) but it was SO worth it!! This place deserves to be number one of all the spas in Phu Quoc and beyond! There is however one point they could improve on in my opinion : you are asked to strip to your underwear for the massage and not provided with any massage clothes. Since the therapist twisted my body into all kinds of strange postures, I felt a little self conscious and uncomfortable at times (luckily it was a woman!). Apart from this small detail, I cannot recommend this spa enough!
