Clermont is a small city in Florida, west of Orlando. Clermont, which is known as the “gem of the hills,” is surrounded by gently sloping hills in an otherwise flat state. The historic downtown has not changes much in 50 years. Clermont is also home to one of the first constructed landmarks in Florida: the Citrus Tower. When you are settled into Clermont, plan a visit the Citrus Tower. It was built in 1956 on one of the highest hills in the area and serves as a monument to Florida’s citrus industry. It stands 226 feet high and has a glass-enclosed observation deck at the top. You can also visit the Showcase of Citrus to pick your own oranges or take an eco-tour in a giant swamp buggy and enjoy a glimpse into Florida’s past. The entire family will enjoy a perfect day in the citrus groves. When visiting Clermont, be sure to visit Revolution: The Off-Road Experience. It is a unique off-road motor and sports venue perfect for families staying in vacation rentals in the area. You can ride ATVs and dune buggies, water ski, or go bass fishing. In Clermont, you can hike, bike, go boating, or drop your line in a lake and wait for the fish to bite. Play a round of golf on one of the many world-class golf courses in the area. Lakeridge Winery is Florida’s largest premium winery and offers winery tours and wine tastings seven days a week. A visit to the President’s Hall of Fame, with wax figures and White House memorabilia, is a perfect afternoon trip. A short drive away from Clermont, is Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and the bustling city of Orlando.

Home to 20+ miles of trails, 7 lakes, 60 campsites, 20 cabins, a swim beach, playground, fishing piers, and more, you could spend days on end exploring this treasured gem.
First time camping at Lake Louisa State Park. We had a great site with a beautiful view of Lake Dixie. Came in late Friday night to a gorgeous sunset! Electric and water hook- ups with a dump station close by. Great place to ride bikes, kayak, hike and trail ride. Loved the rolling hills and amazing views-check out Lake Louisa after you pass through the ranger station. Everyone was very accommodating. We couldn’t arrive the day we planned so I notified the ranger station- no problem, our reservation /site was secured for the next day( we had already paid in full). I will definitely be back to camp but also for day trips to hike and bike.

Check before you arrive here as it’s only open for limited hours and I guess it’s manned by volunteers. There is free parking and they simply ask for a donation. We were warmly greeted by an older gentleman who happily explained about the area and buildings. The position of the museum on the lake side is lovely. There are 2 old houses, a school room, library and war hut. Each building is interesting in its own right and they have great photographs of them moving the houses to this spot which to an English person is fascinating as at home houses are dismantled brick by brick not put on a lorry and moved. Loved the displays in the houses and the interesting stuff in the library. Loved looking at the old magazines in the library. My friend finds the war very interesting and the museum in the war hut was very interesting. We were there about 90 minutes and whilst it’s a tiny place it’s worth a visit.

Do you love cats? Do you love coffee? Then you've found your "purrfect place". The Orlando Cat Cafe is a cozy coffeehouse with an adjacent Cat Play/Adoption Area where you will be greeted by cats and kittens, all adoptable! Whether you are looking to add a feline family member or just looking for some old fashioned "snuggling time" this is the place to visit!
We were vacationing in Orlando and looking for something to do on our last day before flying home. We have two cats at home, so huge kitty fans meaning this was the perfect place to spend an hour and play with the fluffy beauties. We booked online to ensure we had a space reserved which was easy enough to do and cost us $8 each for 3 adults. Upon arrival you visit the counter in the cafe section where you can order food/drinks to take into the cat area with you if you wish. We didn't order anything as we were really only there to see the cats. We were taken into a vestibule area where we disinfected our hands and were given a few rules to abide by (i.e not approaching certain cats with certain colours on their collars). All fine.. our hour began. The cat area is awesome, lots of cozy beds, cat trees, toys to play with etc. The older cats are out and about and then there is a small green house where the kittens are kept. You are given short stints in the kitten area which is timed and the volunteers are very strict with the timing to ensure the kittens are not overwhelmed as they do become tired easily. All of the staff were friendly and readily available to chat and give information. I wish I lived closer as I would love to volunteer. Cat cafes are becoming more popular in the UK now but more as entertainment rather than rescue centres like this one. I think its an amazing experience, and a fantastic way to find a cat to adopt as you can visit regularly until you find the right cat. Most of the cats loved playing and chasing the fishing rod toys. We were very careful not to approach cats who were wearing certain collars but other visitors did not listen and thought they knew better.. but they were soon told off (by the cat lol)... We will definitely back during our next vacation! Please ignore any of the negative reviews on here. The ladies running this cafe take their jobs very seriously and are absolutely not rude! Their main focus is 100% the cats, this is not a tourist attraction so please don't expect to take your kids in for a prodding and poking session. Most of these cats have been through neglect and possibly some trauma so need to be treated fairly.. I seriously cannot believe some of the moans on here!

This is a very popular farm. There is seasonal fruit and flower picking. There are a few rides open for the kids on weekends. The farm itself is beautiful. There is no admission cost, so it’s usually teeming with people. The farm itself is absolutely beautiful and the people who work there are very friendly and patient. The fruit we’ve purchased from the farm has been first class. This place is totally worth a visit.

Spend a couple hours or the entire day. Purple martins return from South America every year and are there now. Great walk bike path you can take around the entire lake. There are bike rentals a restaurant and a coffee shop. A beach and a splash area for little kids. Picnic tables and benches all around. Good parking. The Main Street downtown is also a good a place to stop and there are many ponds and nice areas around.

Take a Monster Truck tour through a privately owned 2500 working Citrus and Cattle Ranch and pick citrus fresh from the tree during season (November-May). Enjoy an Old Time Country Store full of local goodies year round.
Great event you ride through the groves in a monster school bus learning so much about different types of oranges and why they look different on the tree than in the store. The tour continues through a swamp where you might end up seeing little alligators ending with seeing long horn steers and other animals in the outback Finish with oranges to buy and even wine tasting
