Cairdeas is in a comfortable setting, we sat outside while the servers brought us our tastings. It was lovely and comfortable. Both my husband and I ranked as our #1 Winery of the trip (especially the reds) It wasn't cheap since we purchased a couple of bottles, and there was no discount for tastings when you purchase unlike most wineries, but we will enjoy the wine so just a small complaint.

This scenic lake is best known for its sunbathing, water sports and fishing.
We just had three relaxing days in Chelan Washington and I would highly recommend it if you are in the area or doing a road trip. The weather (late August) was just perfect and the lake was vast and beautifully clear. The townships of Chelan and Manson are well kept, quaint and picturesque and they have everything you need. The wineries in the area are an added bonus! We will certainly be back.

The Lady of Lake boat just runs Sundays and Fridays right now due to pandemic and Holden Village being under quarantine but the express boat runs daily. We took the Sunday more leisurely four hour Lady of Lake run to Stehekin and then hiked back along shore several days and got picked up on a Tuesday at Prince Creek by the express boat back to Chelan. It was just a gorgeous trip! Boat crew were very nice people.

Those rare places that can grow grapes, that can produce world class wines, have much in common. A certain look, a certain feel, and the right soils, permeate these lands. Many are graced by the moderating influences of a great body of water. It was only a matter of time before vineyards came to the banks of Lake Chelan and indeed grapes have been grown here for decades. We started a small experimental vineyard in the early 1990’s. The results were mixed. But the critical lessons were learned. The grapes would survive the winters. The influence of the lake in both moderating winter cold and summer heat was clear. The growing season is warm but shorter in days. Selection of grape varieties would need to match those conditions leading some to believe that Lake Chelan would become exclusively a white wine region, hardly the case. It is true, Lake Chelan will never be noted for the late ripening reds like Cabernet Sauvignon but, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah and many other reds will flourish here.Armed with the results of the test vineyard, we purchased nearly eight acres on the cooler South Shore. In the spring of 2000 we planted Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay and Viognier. The assumptions we made have proven correct. The vineyard thrives and we welcome you taste our wines and to judge for yourself if we made the right choices. We invite you to bring your picnic and embrace our gorgeous lake and mountain views.

Situated on Lake Chelan's south shore, the Neff family produces award-winning red and white wines. We believe great wines are made from great vineyards, so we source our grapes from the best vineyards throughout eastern Washington. Dean makes the red wines, Heather makes the whites, and you'll often meet both of us at the winery when you visit. If you find yourself in Chelan, we hope that you take a drive through our estate vineyard and climb our little slope. We promise that you will like what you find at the top.
We had a great time at Nefarious. We were there early on August 4th, and our server was very friendly and customer oriented. The view was lovely as was the wine. We enjoyed a standard tasting, and particularly liked the rose. Highly recommended!

Since 2001, we have been patiently transforming former farm land to vineyards and a simple stone cottage into our current tasting and production facilities. For four generations, the Evans family has farmed the deep soils of the Chelan Valley, growing world-class apples in the unique lake-tempered climate. Now, amidst the orchards and fields of our family farm, we are producing grapes for our estate wines. Faces may change, different hands may perform the labor, but the message is the same: we are family, come join us. We think of enjoying wine at Tunnel Hill as a bit of a homecoming. A chance to settle down. Calm the mind. Quiet those feet. Friendly faces, dog and kid friendly spaces. Come! Pay us a visit. You will enjoy yourself.
