Texas Red Golf Carts and More

After a negative experience at Top Deck/Sage Beach Carts, we had a totally delightful experience with Debbie at Texas Red Golf Carts! We found her to be customer-focused and super friendly and informative. Travis is also a gem! Their rental process is smooth and quick, and the cart was delivered in about 30 minutes! We highly recommend Texas Red's!

Port Aransas Beach

Public beach on Port Aransas that is clean, has a lifeguard and has car-free locations.

No vehicle traffic sucks when it comes to bringing stuff to set up at the beach, but nothing a wagon can’t fix, the trade off has been no vehicle traffic, and no cars all over the beach! This is so nice and I wish Port A would keep this rule even after Covid, maybe year down a condo and build a parking lot lol Anyway, clean beach, warm water, bathrooms and rinse stations, trash cans available, watch out for jelly fish and sting rays, plenty of sea shells, various crabs to look for if you enjoy that sort of thing. Sand is perfect for sand castles! Pretty sunsets too!

The University of Texas Marine Science Institute

Free admission to see tanks displaying sea horses, eels, oysters, fish and other marine life.

We did not go inside because it was not open when we were there. But the main reason for our stop was to see Kent Ullberg’s sculpture “Interdependency”. At first glance you just see a tarpon, impressive enough. The tarpon is the symbol for the town of Port Arkansas. But look closer and you will see within the body of the tarpon a variety of different marine life. There are several other fish, several birds, a sand dollar and a crab. The habitats of all are interdependent, and the life of one species depends upon the other. Thus the sculpture is named “Interdependency.” If you go to the Corpus Christi bayfront you can find several of Ullberg’s sculptures, as well as In Rockport

We had actually picked out another cart rental location but when we arrived we learned it was closed for the week so plan B was Bron’s. Turns out plan B worked out perfectly as we were able to rent a new 6 seater cart for the whole time we were here & the staff were very nice & friendly & gave us a great rate. Really glad we rented here. Highly recommended.

The Port Aransas Ferry System

Reviewed By jaliscojudy - Santa Fe, United States

This small ferry system is very organized and makes the short trip across the Corpus Christi Channel in about 10 minutes on ferries that hold about 20 cars. The ferry runs 24 hours a day and is well staffed. For me, riding the ferry was a lesson in slowing down and respecting the rhythms of the ocean. Loved it.

Great cart and easy rental and return experience. I think our kids had more fun on the cart than they did at the beach.
