Top 10 Things to do Good for Big Groups in Lake Maggiore, Piedmont

December 20, 2021 Jana Sager

On the south side of the Alps, Lake Maggiore is the second largest lake in Italy. Since the climate is mild year-round, the area is filled with Mediterranean vegetation and exotic plants. Lake Maggiore was featured in Ernest Hemingway's infamous novel, A Farewell to Arms, when the protagonist and his lover must row across the lake in order to escape the Italian Carabinieri (think police in military uniforms). Here's hoping you won't have any run-ins of that nature.

Micaela - Private Tour Guide Lake Maggiore Orta Guided Tours

Dear travellers, I'm Micaela Lucini, a true local and experienced private guide in Stresa and I am back! Italy, just like many other countries, has gone through very tough times, but I am glad to inform you that Stresa, lake Maggiore, lake Orta as well as the rest of Italy are now back to normal! All tourist attractions on lake Maggiore, including the Borromean islands, reopened to the public last May. Most of the hotels, bars and restaurants are open and foreigner travellers from EU are able to enter Italy for holiday! From July it will also be possible to enter Italy for vacation from many more countries around the world. So, please, feel free to get in touch in me if you are planning or just dreaming of your next holiday around lake Maggiore and wish to know more about my private tours and also if you have questions about safety or any other question about staying in Stresa or in the Italian lake district! I will be happy to answer your doubts. Stay safe! Ciao, Micaela

It is a unmissable spot when you visit Arona. It is one of my favourite place and the location is amazing. During the years the ruins of the castle have been restored and now they are the perfect background to this park. The view is simply amazing....no doubts that it is the best view of the Lake Maggiore

Alpyland Mottarone

Alpyland is located at the peak of Mottarone and consists of a 1.200 meters long rail track, which boasts a 360 ° view of Alps, the surrounding lands and seven lakes. Similar to a roller coaster, the run develops with curves, bumps, changes of slope and a height difference of 100 meters. The two-seat bobsleighs are equipped with a manual braking system which the passenger can use to adjust the speed to his liking and a selective braking system that slows down all bobs at the end of the descent. Open both in summer and winter, Alpyland is fun for everyone, at any age!
