Cannot recommend Tricky Escape highly enough! One of the bets things I've done in a long time. I did the wizard room with my fiance and father in law and I am very glad to say we got out with 21 seconds to spare :-D Glen was so friendly and his passion for the game really came through. This is must next time you're in Clacton. We're going back to do the 80s room next time!

A group of us (2 mums and 4 boys aged 11-16) have just attended the Curve wake park for a pre-booked Aqua Park session and enjoyed it so much our children are already nagging us to book up again. The aqua park was well maintained, the wet suits were all cleaned and dried between use etc. I read on some reviews that the lake is muddy under foot and this is the case but it is in a open water lake so I can’t understand what people would expect it to be under foot. Also other reviews said that the wetsuits smell. As a open water swimmer this smell is simply from the fact you are swimming in open water. Even my own personal wetsuit has the same smell and it’s nothing to do with the suits being dirty or unsanitary. The centre was following all social distancing and did their best to keep groups apart (as best they could where kids are involved) setting groups off to start on different areas of the inflatables. Honestly we all had so much fun and found the centre to be clean and well kept. Staff were all very helpful and it was all very well organised. It is a open water salty lake, therefore it will be muddy under foot, and the wet suits will have a slight rubber/algae smell. This is perfectly normal, and if you want everything to smell of chlorine go to the local swimming pool! It’s the best fun we’ve all had since lockdown!

Clacton Pier

Clacton Pier is officially the largest pleasure pier in the UK covering a staggering 6 1/2 acres. First opened in July 1871 as a landing stage for goods it was the first construction in the "new" town of Clacton-on-Sea. The town was initially built as a Holiday Destination for Londoners and with poor road access and no railway the pier was the main gateway for goods, holiday makers and locals alike.By 1922 the pier had fallen into receivership and was bough by Ernest Kingsman a businessman who saw the potential to start developing the wooden structure into an amusement destination. Amongst many other things he was responsible for all of the piers main extensions, including building the swimming pool, at least three theatres, adding the original steel Stella roller coaster and the blue lagoon dance hall. Since the kingsman family sold the pier in 1971 there has been a string of owners with the pier going into steady decline, until March 2009 when it was bought by the newly formed Clacton Pier company who has been investing heavily in the attraction. The pier now boasts a selection of new and refurbished family fun rides, Seaqurium sealife centre, 10 Pin bowling, the boardwalk bar, American diner, loads of eating places, great fish and chips, an activity zone and a function room named....The Kingsman Room................and there's a hell of all more in store so LIKE us on Facebook and visit our website to keep updated.
